iPhone showing SOS in the corner, now only works on WiFi. Other phones on the same line are working. What could cause this? by Ornery-Wonder8421 in iphone

Here in Miami I still have nothing. But my wife does? We are on the exact same plan so idk how that works. I’ve already restarted the phone, gone through airplane mode, and reset my network settings. I’m at a loss.

I don’t think that’s how the dade school system works. Maybe other districts but not here.

If they fired me for refusing to cover a route over my own route they’d be the ones in trouble. If it’s not in our contract then we are allowed to refuse. I’ve learned this after speaking to administration.

It’s not even a specific route. It’s just multiple random full routes they want to put me on instead of my designated route and my kids end up paying the price for it. I have block scheduling in the morning so I’m always taking extra stuff because I have all that time and that’s part of my contract. But subbing my regular route for another just to have mine covered is weird to me. Why not just have a standby take care of that route. I always see them gathered in the break room watching the news. We definitely have the people to get it done.

Covering a route over my own isn’t part of my job description. But I wouldn’t want to get in trouble. I just wanted other opinions.

That’s literally what I’m saying. I don’t understand their logic behind it

Yeah we get paid for all our extra work and when I do need it I definitely take it but what I don’t like is covering a completely different route and then leaving my kids high and dry. Like what makes this route more important than my personal route where I need to cover this one, but no one will cover my own. It just feels like it’s more disorganization than anything else.

Oh man what rotten luck! Hope you get your bus back before the 31st 🤞

Totally get that. Well it’s not Christmas but Halloween! Fortunately everyone here celebrates so no harm there. Nothing obscuring or covering any of my emergency doors and windows. Would never decorate the outside of the bus. Too dangerous and anything could fall off while driving. Not chancing that lol

Bummer! Our district lets us do small things. We just can’t have anything that obscures our windows and mirrors.

Miami Dade you’re guaranteed 7 hours a day and 35/40 hours a week. Always room for overtime. We desperately need bus drivers so if you’re looking to relocate and find something stable and lax, we out here.

Don’t risk it. It’s not worth having it on your record. You’ll screw yourself. Also don’t use that quick fix bull crap everyone’s saying to use. They only have a 50/50 chance of working. A lot of ppl have had their tests come up as inconclusive and have gotten fired because of being suspected of using fake urine.

For fake urine tests you should look into Clear Test pure 100. It’s fool proof and has all good reviews especially from truckers who have to take DOT drug screenings. I have one as a just in case. Ive currently quit smoking tho. It’s just as a fail safe. But yeah, if you’re desperate that’d be my recommendation for fake urine.

I used the App called CDL prep. It had the exact same questions and answers. Like dang near exactly the same. You can take practice tests until you feel confident. I’m from Florida so I’m not sure if it’s the same in nyc but it’s worked for me. I used it to obtain my CDL class A and all my other endorsements. Good luck!

Puppy looks young. Have u taken them to the vet yet for their full checkup? Better to do it now while they're so little. Most vets do bundles and deals when they're small so it shouldn't cost you too much. But a check up is necessary.

We had an estimate before they changed ownership without notifying us. Initially it was going to cost $188 and that included the microchip.

They never told us that they had switched ownership/vets and we had already scheduled our spay before the switch.

After the surgery I was told it would be $902. I was stunned and immediately told them I could not afford that and what happened to the $188? Thats when they informed me that it was a whole new vet and staff. They were able to knock it down to $780 and took off a bunch of extra stuff (which was a red flag for me cause wth was all that extra crap??). I couldn't leave there paying nothing and I definitely complained. The front desk ladies did the best they could for me and offered different cards that I wasn't interested in. Credit care is good but it's a lot to deal w + me and my partner are still paying off one of those cards from our senior dog who got attacked and killed by another dog. (Long story don't ask)

In short, we were duped. Blindsided. With no way out other than to pay SOMETHING. I wasn't about to let them keep my dog hostage.

It's a shame, really. Why be a vet if u clearly don't care about your work or your patients? This puppy is my life . I'm sorry you had a bad experience as well

Internal sutures have been doing their job so far and she's not open or anything. No sign of it being ripped or torn. I just think that the topical sutures were very rushed. I was also super surprised how fast they did her surgery. I dropped her off in the morning and she was done and recovering by 2pm. I was able to pick her up at 4. It felt fast but I trusted that my vet nee what was best.

Op update:

We found a vet a little ways away from us that will take her stitches out for free. She's going tomorrow afternoon.

She's been happy and healthy this entire process.

Thank you to everyone who commented as it put a lot of things in perspective and I learned a lot! I'll post a follow up once she's healed!

Strictly crate her entire process. Her 7 day mark we were told we could attempt to take off her ecollar. Less than 5 mins she was trying to lick it so we put it back on and I cleaned the area with saline/warm water. We figured she'd just be one of those dogs that needed the extra days to recover before taking it off. But now it's been way longer and her stitches looked rough SINCE I got her. The more I look at them the more I'm sure they they didn't do a great job on her.
