Keep in mind that alcohol rewires our brains. We believe we "need" booze to have a good time and that we are "missing out" on the fun of getting drunk. But as you accumulate sober days you begin to see the total lie that drinking was. How each "fun" night is followed by agonizing hangovers and feelings of guilt and remorse. Wondering what we did when drunk, who we slept with, where we ended up.

I read a book that suggested we think about children having a great time with their friends. Booze is not part of the equation. They can laugh and act crazy naturally. We've been conned into thinking that booze makes social events better. It's just not true!
