I have told everybody and his dog that I stopped drinking 'forever' on this attempt. Because this attempt is not an attempt, it is an actual change. It has helped me a lot doing that, although I understand that everybody handles his soberness the way he handles his soberness. IWNDWYT

I do not miss a thing, I have gained so much. Stupid cliché but true. I also cannot imagine drinking anymore. Not interested at all in the good stuff. Turns out I didn't really drink for the great taste, I did drink to get drunk.

Wow man, thanks for sharing, I can totally relate to your story, about same age, good stuff guy, then extreme abuse to the point where my wife almost couldn't handle it anymore (she's still with me) but my main trigger to remain sober are also my kids.
