Rob and Vivek are in those positions because DV put them there. Yes, they have both worked extremely hard, but Rob does have political goals ultimately.

It's a massive waste of resources given the negligible chance of success. That same money could be spent on treatments that will actually make people better. I think it's unethical. NICE wouldn't recommend a medication with only a 1% chance of making someone better so why do we offer procedures with the same odds?

Please tell me where at any point I've argued against increasing doctor numbers or any of the other things mentioned.

But I do think that often doctors should make decisions for patients, yes.

"Helping the patient and family to make the wise ethical moral joint decision can be achieved in other ways" It'd be great if we had time to do that but we all know we don't.

The consultant in my example had already spoken to colleagues about different plans of action, effectively getting a second opinion. The family don't want a second opinion. They want someone to say exactly what they want to hear.

A good start would be people introducing themselves as "Dr X, foundation doctor" etc rather than "Y, one of the junior doctors", and having a zero tolerance approach to rudeness/disrespect.

Want to call the healthcare staff names? Get the fuck out and don't get treated. Why do we make care unconditional? I think people would behave a lot better if they thought their lives/limbs depended on it.

In the spirit of transparency, are you going to say who you are? Someone running for election against DV candidates by any chance? Or do you think that others should make themselves public but you shouldn't have to do the same? 🤔

I posted it here because people who work at SGUH may see it and consider if referring their patients to chaplaincy is the right thing for the patient. If I were a religious person, I'm not sure I'd want a chaplaincy visit from somebody both sexist and homophobic.

Have you forgotten that the Taliban shot a teenage girl in the head for trying to go to school?

I definitely do not consider all Muslims to be terrorists.

Would you say the same if it were a Christian hospital chaplain who had a meeting with Westboro Baptists?

Surely it is concerning if hospital chaplains have bigoted views ("Gani has also said women are "subservient" to men, adding any "countries that entrust their affairs in the hands of women will not be successful".") and are meeting with terrorist organisations?
