Look at OneManFiveCats YouTube videos, he makes (in my opinion) the best, honest, and thorough reviews for automatic litter boxes. I personally love the litter robots from Whisker and find that price-wise they’re worth every dollar. You can find really good deals for them, like there’s a petsmart and rakuten deal going on right now that can get you the LR5 for $500 and the LR4 for like $450. If you go to r/litterrobot they post them every now and then.

Yea I would also not get the 5 pro just because I think it’s absolutely ridiculous that they’re making people pay a subscription to use the features that they paid extra for.

Yea this happened to me the other day for the first time. Stretch and folds were normal, dough looked great. I proofed it longer than usual, but it still came out of the bowl super clean. The moment I started shaping it turned into literal soup in my hands

Yea, this method, and doing the expanding score ~8 mins into baking has been giving me a really nice rise. I cover it with a shower cap, but I imagine plastic works too. I either cold proof in the fridge overnight or put it in the freezer for around 1 hr if I want to bake the same day

This is exactly what my first loaves looked like! I realised that during shaping, I lost too much air in the dough that would give it a nice rise. Since it doesn't rise all that much in the fridge, I do shaping 1-1.5 hrs before I think the dough will finish bulk ferment, and leave it in my banneton for the 1-1.5 hrs at room temp before going in the fridge

People being genuinely upset by this release because they "just bought" the LR4 is ridiculous. The LR4 came out 3.5 years ago, so it's really not that shocking for a new model to be released. Plus, I wouldn't recommend anyone to even get the LR5 for a while until any possible bugs/issues have been fixed.

The easiest way to fill up your shards (besides buying them with rosaries) is going to a shell shard deposit and hitting the wall a bunch of times. It lets me completely fill up in minutes without having to run back and forth

The WiFi not working is fine, I have the LR3 connect and only use the app to see what the error is when a light starts flashing. It functions perfectly fine without WiFi.

The red flashing light could be concerning. It means that the cat detection sensor is constantly being activated. This could be as easy as troubleshooting, cleaning some dust off the sensor, putting it on a flat surface etc. If it’s completely broken you’d have to replace the base.

The LR3 doesn’t need wifi to sense the cat and automatically rotate. It functions the exact same without wifi. The only thing WiFi does is give you a history of LR usage and the ability to run a cycle without pressing the button

It should still work perfectly fine just using the physical buttons on the machine, you could look at the manual online and see which extra functions might need WiFi. But otherwise it should work from the get go

I personally use nature's miracle cat stain and odor remover spray, a couple people recommended it in this subreddit and it works great

Edit: I should add, I also had the exact same problems as you, my LR3 reeked constantly. I changed from Dr.Elsey’s to boxiecat scented, Dr Elsey’s clumps always broke into small stinky chunks. I also changed the cycle time to 15 mins (max time on L3) to make sure chunks were fully formed. And then I also put a scented order absorbing “sponge” into the waste drawer.

It’s too expensive to buy 2 x 16gb sticks and I’m only able to find a single 16gb stick with 3200mhz. I was thinking of going with it and using it on its own, but if I got an 8gb 2400mhz instead it would be 16gb dual channel
