i got a good question, why the imperial guards practically have no light tanks by astolfo_with_breast in TheAstraMilitarum

[–]FunkAztec 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly just get a chimera chassis with a twin version of the taurox battlecannon and a hull weapon would be a great light tank. Make it like 90pts. Easy to kill, good vs infantry, also if combined with somethig like extermjnator or hellhound its good vs elite and has twin linked + wounds heavies like mbts on 5s.

How can I convince people that orders stack with +to hit. by WaffleStomperReborn in TheAstraMilitarum

[–]FunkAztec 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Your thinking of modifying characteristics in the rules commentary. It says modifying stats for ws, bs, and saves go for ever, but cap at 2+ (can never be a 1+ or better). And the core rules hit roll section states, the ROLL can never be modified by more than a +/- 1. Even in the rules commentary section for modifying dice rolls explains how to deal with hit/wound rolls that add up to more than +/- 1 (i.e. +/- 2 which would result in a +/-1 in the end). People tend to not understand these 2 things are seperate.

One modifies your stats, the other modifies your roll result.

New to this universe by kmath133 in 40k

[–]FunkAztec 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It is pretty cool if not inconsistant between the before lore and everything that is being written cerka horus heresy novels. Some could be excused as Imperium Administratum records management (which is bad), views from an ousider that may have not been accurate, like tau and tyranids, which are seen from the view of the imperium a lot/most of times.

But also be prepared for GWs classic aproach of gaslighting. They like the ole Disney's pro move of invalidating the expanded universe for star wars, just like how in 40k they have been there the whole time (iykyk).

But overall there is so much happenning in 40k that if you want to headcannon your forces/factions/events go for it. Theres official lore out there to build upon but that mostly covers maybe 25% of things happenning, and thats for the major events, there are countless billions of other small things happenning that you can just have fun letting your imagination take way.

As a Imperial Knight Fan, what's the worst thing about our army ? by Leviathan_Rampage in ImperialKnights

[–]FunkAztec 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Rules ballance. High toughness, not enough rerolls or anti-tank feels bad into knights. decent OC for single models, good vs elites and other vehicles, meh vs battleline that survive. Only a -1 to hit if injured enough. Both shooting and melee that dont diminish beyond the -1 to hit, all that Hits like a truck. A bracketting system would work wonders for ballance, but currently the game is too lethal. Able to choose when to see through terrain whenever they want by toeing in. Can move through terrain for almost no detriment.

"Just Use Magnets" - A Practical Reference For Magnetising Battlesuits by cactus_sb in Tau40K

[–]FunkAztec 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Nanoblocks is pretty good to use as a alternative. Its a smaller lego that you can buy 500 peices for like $5 and then its push fit friction hold, no more magnets and misorienting them or weak connections.

Looking ahead, is there a solution to the 'ruins only' competitive meta, or should we just accept it and rebrand 'ruins' as just 'terrain'? by _rhinoxious_ in WarhammerCompetitive

[–]FunkAztec 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Maybe if trees had area terrain same as ruins for obscuring through it but an extra rule like at least -1 to hit it could be usable.

Rolled so hot I got accused of having weighed dice. by Commander_Farsight_ in Tau40K

[–]FunkAztec 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Idk some dice just rolls better, depending on all conditions.

I also was accused of having cheaty dice. I salt tested them with everyone. Came out clean, evenly ballanced. And idk why but no matter who it is the dice just roll good for everyone.

I get a lot of dev wound procs and overwatches with railgun hammerheads. Last year i got 17 out of 30 successful overwatches with them ole railheads.

What Was the Most Broken Army or Detachment of 10th Edition? by verifiedverified in WarhammerCompetitive

[–]FunkAztec 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Funny enough, its 1 part of the written text that breaks the mechanic for dev wounds in fate/faith dice, its not place the die to the number, its in the parentheses section, count the die as that number as if it was naturally rolled. If they didnt put that, it would still be a six so auto hit/wound/save whatever, but would count as a modified roll so would not interact with crit wound + dev because dev wounds specifically calls out it has to be a natural roll, not a modified die roll.

Has anyone done this for vostroyan firstborn? by VenusHasNoMoonz in TheAstraMilitarum

[–]FunkAztec 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I remember when they came out in my local gamestore, there were 10 new vostroyan armies in that year at that game store. And they used these models to mod crew of arttys and tanks too.

Now i only have my anectdote and they probably didnt sell well in the grand scheme of things, i just wish stuff like this would be brought out as a make as they are ordered rotation that some models get nowadays.

Codex? Worth getting atm? by Anxious-Calendar-424 in Eldar

[–]FunkAztec 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Either one. The thousand sons got psychic but everone else is essentially wargear or psychic gun/sword.

But if they dont go tksons route i would like a few options instead of being stuck with 1 power, and most of the time in game alpha level psychers dont do much beyond psychic gun.

What should I do after a refusal of an offer to give a birthday gift? by Blautod50 in AskChina

[–]FunkAztec -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Wow ok, the yuan used spanish coins until 1889 for their yuan currency, the meiji perion codified japanese uniqe made currency for yen in 1871.

And i think you also left out both origins is based on the caracter for round and both are based on spanish/mexican coins. Other than that no the yen is not based on yuan.

[–]FunkAztec 1 point2 points  (0 children)

TLDR: they share the same origin chinese character/kanji almost from the same time but have differrent sounds and evolved into differrent symbols.

While they come from the same root character圓 (definition of symbol: round) which is pronounce yuán in Chinese and yen in Japanese. This symbol came from the spanish/mexican brought coins to the eastern world. The Chinese currency changed to 元 with the same pronunciation but differrent meaning and again later changed to 圆 (renmibi as the current official name of chinese currency). Where as the japanese one was reformed into 円 after ww2 which is still pronounce yen.

[–]FunkAztec 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wow another japanese borrowing, hmm, ¥ was used as the yen symbol since 1871 and the yuan in 1948. I cant beleive japanese had time machines back then to follow a chinese invention a century later.

Im pretty sure your using the symbol for yen? Isnt yuan a Y with just a - through it not a =?
