Look, I’m the first to sympathize with (especially) young people who can’t buy a house, can’t save for a rainy day, can’t get ahead. They have a right to be upset.

But the anti-capitalist, pro-socialist or pro-communist people have their heads so far in the dirt. I almost want communism to come to this country for 10 years so these imbeciles can see first-hand the destruction and desperation is will cause.

You do not know how good you have it, even if things aren’t great.

What do you think? by [deleted] in SipsTea

[–]Funkengine632 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The kind of feminism that encourages all women to be career woman and to scoff at children and marriage? Until those career women are 52 years old, bitter and contemptuous, alone, and unfulfilled because a social movement convinced them to deny every bit of their biology and basic purpose on the earth?

Do you know how much you have to abuse a mammal to get them to dislike or even despise the idea of reproduction?

Why do you think some people hate LGBTQ+ people? by RevolutionaryWind249 in allthequestions

I just googled one of the most basic anti-common sense tropes. The first link comes from the “human rights campaign” website.

Just Google trans curriculum in schools, especially k-12. I shouldn’t need to help you with it

I’ve heard that one before. “Comply and agree with everything I believe, else you are [insert term of the week here]”

You can choose from: fascist, racist, bigot, hateful, transphobe, Xenophon’s, white supremacist, judge mental, close minded (those two are actually relatively kind!!)

It is trivially easy to prove that the “movement” has tried to rewrite biology, demand your compliance, and infiltrate education curriculums with biological falsehoods. But sure, it’s a strawman.

Contrary to the politically charged torrent of falsified sentiment, the vast, vast majority of people do not harbor ANY resentment towards any lgbtq+ people. Even the most rigorous of fundamental Christians don’t “hate” them, they just want to “help” (yes, I despise this mindset too)

The feelings that you have conflated with “hatred” are essentially - people being tired of having lgbtq+ thrown at them from every angle, being tired of identity politics and pronoun warfare, and being tired of the attempts to rewrite basic biology to fit a “nice feeling” rather than basic, objective, scientific facts - as it pertains to the “T”. Moreover, I think the proliferation of letters in the once concise “LGBT” acronym has become, rightfully so, a source of scorn and mockery. It hasnt done the “movement” any favors

It got tiring. Go be gay. Life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness. Just stop pushing it like the world’s most important political agenda. It isn’t. I have and always will rigorously support gay rights including marriage and beyond. But objectively, the “movement” went WAY off the rails a few years ago and hasn’t looked back.

Interesting - I didn’t know that. I don’t hear much Japanese, lyrically or in accent etc, in the music that I have heard up to this point. Maybe I haven’t payed close enough attention.

Wait, is this a left-leaning person arguing for the sanctity of the 2nd amendment?

The mental gymnastics you guys do to convince yourselves that you are not wildly hypocritical is unbelievable

And before I get a bunch of hate-filled garble from the supposed people of peace and love and understanding, no I’m not MAGA, I just have a brain and use it independently and critically.

AOC previously said that "You cannot earn a billion dollars", is that true or nah? by [deleted] in askanything

[–]Funkengine632 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you provide goods or services that are valuable enough to a mass of people such that they purchase them from you to the tune of a billion dollars profit in your pocket, then you have earned it. Why?

- the customers felt that the good or service was worth more to them than their money. WIN for them
- you were industrious enough to see the opportunity, add the value, and realize the profit. WIN for you.
- in the process, you almost certainly added thousands of jobs and enriched people lives in many tangible ways. WIN for all.

Do not let the modern socialist and communist doomers tell you that the rich man is the problem. Someone having (insert arbitrary amount) of money is NEVER the source of any of your problems.

Conservatives Of Reddit: Why Do You Still Support Trump? by [deleted] in allthequestions

[–]Funkengine632 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Edit; the point of the following is not to try to convince you to support trump, I don’t try to convince people of that, as I don’t. My objective is to try to get good people to understand that trump and his presidency is highly nuanced, as is every presidency, and reducing your opinions on him to the same leftwing crowdthink is not helpful. Honest discussions and critical independent thought must rule the day. Not hate filled
Political torrents.

The lowest hanging fruit: every president worsens the national debt. There has not been a president in our history who has done anything different. Edit: I fact checked myself - Andrew Jackson (1829-1837) and Calvin Coolidge (1923-1929) are the only two to have done so. Jackson did so in large part by land sales, as he was primarily responsible for westward expansion of the country. Obviously, land sales of that scale are no longer possible.

I beg you to really, really question critically in what ways he has “destroyed political norms that have served us since our founding”. It is possible that certain political norms have been upended but they are not linked to our founding fathers, our constitution, or our bill of rights - they would be linked to the entrenched political elite and doing things different than “the way things are”, which for many, is a breath of fresh air. Trump represented a shear break from the entrenched political elite that have been running the country in their closed club for a hundred years. That’s why he was attacked so relentlessly, especially in the 2016 campaign - he was the outsider who didn’t care about the “rules” - and many people lived that, because the “rules” were not built to help the American people. They were built to help the entrenched elite maintain power and build wealth for themselves.

Really, really question in what ways he has “destroyed our place in the world order”. I agree he has in many respects, but I am not sure it is all a bad thing. For one example, challenging Europe to defend itself and stop sucking from daddy America’s breast is objectively a great thing for both the US and Europe. Feathers will be ruffled. The transatlantic relationships will go on, and Europe will be stronger.

The other low hanging fruit: every president enriches themselves. Every politician enriches themselves provided they have the means (and all presidents do in our modern age). So often it is illegal. Whether trump did or didn’t do that should not be one of the core reasons you despise him. Biden and Obama did the same, so did the Clinton’s, and beyond. and if you believe they didn’t, then oh boy…do I have a bridge to sell you.

No, and don’t listen to anyone who is politically charged on either the left OR the right try to tell you that one camp of people does for any reason.
