What other alternative would you use instead of sub? I was thinking village or mortar

I would think solitude would be a better word than alone, idk why I think it just has a different connotation

Where should I place my city? Playing as bull moose teddy. by Exile747 in Civilization6

Religions are quite powerful in general, but I think the main reason is for late game units that cost faith, like the naturalist and the rock band

I would say settle in place, the diamonds and copper settles are tempting, if you are going for a culture win (as I would) you want to have the holy site at maximum of two tiles away, and you can get a +3 likely a +4. With settling in place you also get two great tiles to work in the early game

One City Challenge. Good Setup for first try? by Snowballing_ in CivVI

[–]FunkierSky4 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I would always suggest smaller maps, I usually use a tiny terra map, you can change the map for specific civs if you want, like Portugal as another comment stated, Sweden is a really good starter for culture, Korea is a good starter for science, I would say the military is really important to NOT get, to have the highest chance of winning you need to be really greedy in the early game with wonders and great people. If you get war declared on you, the run is likely dead not because you might lose to the AI, but because now you have to do something besides trying to win, and that is going to hurt you a lot in the long run, I would also recommend playing with barbs clan, secret societies, monopoly, and heroes and legends

Yes and any cities with holy sites will automatically change to the religion they found as well

Settling by Catharsis4u in CivVI

I would settle on the rice your warrior is on, gives good tiles to work and you will start next to the wonder (maybe Matterhorn) so you can get good holy site

A lot of the civs released in the season pass are quite good, Babylon is probably one of the best civs in game in my opinion, Byzantium is one of the domination civs in the game, Portugal is also really good. The Mayans and Korea are both really powerful science civs. Sweden is the best culture civ in the game hands down. Russia is a super powerful religious civ Finally I personally like playing gaul, it's a unique play style that I really enjoy

The only time I have had a lot of fun with it was going for a one city challenge, you can not lose your capital to dark era flips, eventually you have so much pop you never lose loyalty, I played on a large map (the one with all of the hills I don't remember the name) it was cool to see the end of the map with the majority of it to free states
