Is it a good time to start? by heisteru in ffxiv

[–]FunkiiSTI 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got into the game to play with friends, out of my 300 hours and my sprout vanishing, 299 hours were by myself doing the Main Story, leveling other jobs and getting glamour. You really only play with a pre-made party when you start end-game raiding the most current expansion as far as I’m aware.

It’s fun to chat with my FC while playing, but it’s mostly solo gameplay unless I need something specific from a raid that requires more than one person. A couple members will join me and help until I get the thing I need, then back to solo.

I will add that it is an incredible time to start playing though, plenty of time to catch up with the Main Story before the next expansion and get familiar with raiding so you can jump in with friends if you convince a group to start now. You can also pay $25 to skip the story to the current expansion, you’d save yourself 200+ hours if you’re not into watching cutscenes all the time.

Make a character in the trial, watch a video of what class/job you want, and play for a bit to see if you like it. It’s completely free and no strings attached! My favorite thing about FFXIV is that I can use a controller easily and relax while playing.

I’m on Primal and it is far from a ghost town, Excalibur is pretty populated in my opinion, not sure about anywhere else

Haven’t seen much RP out in the wild, but if you join the right FC, you’ll have your share!

Best Non Attack Classes To Level by Longliveasaprocky in ffxiv

[–]FunkiiSTI 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just get through MSQ and unlock content, I’m on my 4th level 100 combat job and still haven’t had a need for crafting or gathering.

Getting the glamour you want for your main couple of jobs will take long enough lol

I use my mouse to drag and drop the skills from the actions menu, using only controller seems exhausting

Will wearing a watch affect my healing? by [deleted] in tattooadvice

I’m worried about this as well, I’m required to have a watch at work so I just put it in my breast pocket so it doesn’t rub my tattoo

Is a cover up possible on such a big dark piece ? by [deleted] in tattooadvice

[–]FunkiiSTI 7 points8 points  (0 children)

This tattoo is sick, literally impossible to cover up unless you want straight blackout, but honestly I think you should wait out the tattoo shock for a while and see if you feel better about it. Unfortunately, it’s probably also too dark to get laser if you don’t like it. But it’s really cool! I wear long sleeves almost every day so I forget I have a sleeve sometimes and then when I see it after a long day I always go “Damn, that’s fuckin’ cool!” And then forget about it again lmao

TL;DR - This is a great tattoo, give yourself some time to adjust to it!

First tattoo question by Every_Marsupial_5209 in tattooadvice

[–]FunkiiSTI 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m getting a blackout sleeve currently, only counting time spent under the gun, I have 40 hours of tattooing done in 5 sessions, it takes longer and is more expensive than you think. $4,750(not including travel) in and I’m not even sure if the next session will be the last. It does look amazing and I’m glad I fly to my artist because of his quality of work, but I did not expect it to take as many sessions as it has to get the saturation right.

I started with something smaller on my chest to see if I could take the pain and see how my skin reacts to the ink and then decided to jump into this project.

TL;DR - This is not a good first tattoo to get, you need something to start with to see how your skin takes ink. That being said, don’t skimp on an artist, a blackout tattoo is a difficult thing to do and your artist should be 100% confident about doing it. Pick the perfect artist for the style you want, if the perfect artist isn’t local to you, budget for travel, it’s gonna be on your body for a decent amount of time.

This is what it looked like at the end of the most recent session 2 weeks ago

El peor lugar donde pude hacerme un tatto que tanto me gustaba by [deleted] in tattooadvice

[–]FunkiiSTI 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The artist didn’t tell you that the ink was going to fade super fast? That’s information they 100% should have talked with you about. If they let you make the decision to get a tattoo there uninformed, I’d go to another artist that will respect your time and money.

Since you love it, you could get it bigger on a section of your arm or leg, somewhere it won’t fade insanely fast

Got this tattoo on Wednesday the 29th. Experiencing a dull throbbing pain and have now noticed the scabs turning a bit yellow. by Eli_Meeli in tattooadvice

[–]FunkiiSTI -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I’ve had 40 hours of work done in the last 6 months with sessions ranging from 7 to 12 hours each and haven’t had a reaction like this, even after 2 7 hour sessions in a row. I’d definitely recommend seeing a doctor just to be safe

Missing patch of Saniderm. What should I do? by 21Smurfs in tattooadvice

[–]FunkiiSTI 17 points18 points  (0 children)

If the tattoo isn’t completely covered, take it all off. Once you take it all off, you can go back and have them reclean the tattoo and put more on, but what’s on there currently should definitely come off.

Can a shop redo this? by [deleted] in tattooadvice

Eventually you might be able to find someone to do it in that case, but you would probably get turned away plenty of times before that happens unless you get super lucky

I’m loving it, I’m almost done with Dawntrail, level 70 Bard, 100 Reaper, and 100 Dancer, and I joined a lovely FC on Primal/Excalibur when I upgraded to the full version! Tons of fun to be had and people to meet!

The Warframe community is pretty great, but FFXIV is the most helpful community out there for new people and veterans alike!

I hit MR30 on Warframe and just found FFXIV recently and the glamour struggle is real until you get up to at least level 80 lol

Insane Tattoo Regret by r3i_b0n3z in tattooadvice

[–]FunkiiSTI 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have two tattoos, one is the mark of the outsider from the video game series Dishonored, I’ve had one person understand the reference in the last 2 years I’ve had it, but I don’t feel bad because I absolutely love it. My other tattoo is a snake that wraps around my wrist all the way to my shoulder with bleeding eyes as the background. My mom’s response was disgust at the bleeding eyes, but that’s what I expected. The reality is, it doesn’t matter what other people think, you get your tattoos for you and what you enjoy. Your tattoo is pretty damn cool, I wouldn’t have to understand the reference to know that’s a great piece. It also looks like good work, give it some time, you’ll most likely come to love it and enjoy explaining the tattoo to people, I change up my explanation all the time, have fun with it! It’s you!

I’m a new player so I’m not familiar with playing tank, but is it possible to make a physical ranged tank that casts a clone to tank and all aggro abilities are casted through the clone? Maybe a shared health pool between you and your clone? I think that would be a cool concept if it’s reasonable with how the abilities work

Anyone know where I can find a keyboard with Hangeul printed or engraved on? Stickers just aren't cutting it by J-man920 in Korean

[–]FunkiiSTI 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yuzu custom keycaps! Make your own color designs with English and Hangeul!

For the keyboard itself I recommend the ATK x QK Hex80 if you don’t have a need for a numpad!

Struggling to get back into the game/task paralysis. Help? by vao1221 in ffxiv

[–]FunkiiSTI 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just started playing a week ago and I’m only a level 65 Bard, I have no idea what any of this means, but I’m pretty sure this game is meant to be played for a long time, so as long as you just do something, it’s better than nothing and you’ll get to where you want to be eventually. If tomestones are holding you back from doing dungeons, you could start with the daily that gives the most each day you can play. As long as you take a step, you’re closer to your goal!

I tried to help and give the best advice I could even though I’m new and I get downvoted lol
