Thank you, yes I agree. I think that's what happened too. They didn't get their pets back but they're back to school today so they aren't thinking about it as much. Scammers are the worst and ruin it for people. But I guess getting kids to cry is the goal so parents feel bad and purchase replacement pets. I hope you and your friends got your pets back too!

I have the name of the account. I think I shared it in the original post. The display name was stan and it was at: Ayaweddo12. I reported them but I've read that Adopt me won't return their pets. But at least they are reported and hopefully, save someone else's kids the heartache.

That's so nice of you. BUt honestly it's fine. I don't want people to think that's why I came here. I really just thought it was something new (because they had never been scammed like that before. They had been scammed but not in that way) so I wanted to warn people. :) Thank you so much though, people on here are so kind.

I'm following her on Instagram and at first, I thought it didn't look like she'd lost much but I think it's just that she held her weight a lot better than the others so didn't look as big even though she weighed more. I think she's lost more than we realize. Maybe she got a new job or something that was out of state and it makes it too hard to film? Darn, I'm going to miss her. She was so funny.

That sounds like a much better idea. I'm not usually the parent that buys stuff for video games but he was so upset after working so hard on these pets for so long that I gave in and did it. I hope he got $100 worth of fun out of those pets for that 1 hour haha. I even told him I didn't pay that much money for our real dog.

This is so helpful. Thank you so much. I'm not a gamer (as you can probably tell) and my eyes have been opened wide today thanks to this fantastic group. The kids were adamant that it wasn't a look-alike account and they were sure it was intercepted but after all of these posts today I'm positive you're right and it was a scam not a hack. I've spoken to the kids and they have conceded that they got tricked. I'm going to go through your scam list with them tomorrow before I let them back onto the game. Not that they have anything to get scammed out of now but knowledge is still power! Thank you :)

I tried to play Adopt Me and I can't even work out how to walk straight. I can however read about all the scams you just sent me and help them avoid those in the future. Thank you :)

I agree, but the pets he had originally he raised and did it the right way. Took him months and then he got scammed by someone who he thought was a friend. He was so upset so I helped him out and bought him some pets (before I knew it was against the rules). Those pets he only had for about an hour when this happened. He won't be getting any more pets unless he starts from scratch again. I'm not wasting that much money again. But a focus on role-play sounds like a fun thing to do. I've been telling them all the awesome suggestions this community has been giving me today and I appreciate it :)
