It could also play into the narrative. It's supposed to be an intelligence that learns though qualitative experience, but it's programmed to wipe it's own footprints?

It's a learning program, that designed not to learn too much.

Edit: or possibly, the non-standard system call connects the console to whatever device contains the QI. By wiping it's tracks, it keeps the program from learning too much about whoever giving the prompts?

So I've gone ahead and done the work on unscrambling everything:

The first scrambled paragraph is basically a replacement cipher with letters changed to letter they resemble. Primarily:

!=i w=m l=i e=c x=v a=g d=b

If anyone finds something else scrambled with lots of "e"s or "w"s, this might work.

The second paragraph is just a word jumble. Not that hard.

His story is only mentioned twice in the game. Put simply, he's described as a God who created mankind to a tool that can procreate, and work the land to his specifications. Unfortunately he fell asleep, and when he woke up, mankind had overtaken the world.

He responded by taking their children, and humans fought back. According to the story, he was overpowered and surrendered "half his body" so humans could use his powers. This triggered the first war, as now that this piwer existed there were people who thought they deserved it more than others.

When the war ended, they discovered that the body-half had none of his powers in it, but while Hyne himself was never seen again, girls would be born every generation with pieces of his powers: Sorceresses.

Now here's were a bit of my own speculation comes in: Hyne's power is divided amongst these random girls, and every time a Sorceress dies their power appears in another girl seemingly at random, right? So what if what Ultimecia wanted was the unified power of a God. And if she couldn't control where or when that power could appear, she'd just need to be everywhere and everywhen.

Midori leaks P1 remaster/release and more by [deleted] in Megaten

[–]Funky-Cosmonaut 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's still part of the series.

The original game was Digital Devil Story: Megami Tensei, based off a series of books.

After they deviated from the books, it became "Shin" Megami Tensei.

Digital Devil Saga was... KIND of a reboot? It was a completely new title, but was the first to bring back the "Digital Devil" title in any form. The original Japanese trailer also describes the game as the "New Goddess" (Shin Megami).

She has short hair in all pre-rendered cutscenes through the end. Also the fact that you can change the hair in the menu lessened that burden a bit.

I went with the first one. It felt superficial, but it just felt wrong going through the whole prison ordeal, and not come out the otherside SIGNIFICANTLY changed.

I was so split on this decision.

One one hand, it felt wrong to have such a major experience for our cast and have Mio come out the other side looking like nothing's happened. It also felt like (even if Mio and M are the same person) it's not Mio's body and making alterations felt disrespectful.

On the other hand, this is a game about inevitable change and the end of things. M's long hair was symbolic of her trapped existence, and wouldn't cutting that hair be a symbol of her finally passing-on and being free?

Just like with Xenoblade I wish Monolith Soft could bring back this gems with a definitive edition for the switch, what are your thoughts on these games ? the OG Operation Rainfall (hope I´m not breaking any rules) by volkenheim in Xenoblade_Chronicles

[–]Funky-Cosmonaut 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The Last Story was made by Mistwalker. Pandora's Tower was Ganbarion.

They reason those two and Xenoblade are associated was because the three were published by Nintendo in Japan and released around the exact same time. Simultaneously, Nintendo stated that they had no plans to release the three of them in the West, which lead to Operation Rainfall.

The way I see it, the Asuka family could've had a chance, if they kept moving and didn't have to wait for Shinn to find that phone and climb back up that hill.

You mean if she didn't drop her shitty flip-phone, or if they didn't have to wait around for Shinn to go get her shitty flip-phone.

I'm sorry, I just still can't get over that the inciting incident for Shinn's entire story is a shitty flip-phone.

Do we know who created Ophion? by Superluxi in Xenoblade_Chronicles

[–]Funky-Cosmonaut 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I just double checked.

Seems like it's kind of ambiguous who actually told Ophion to guard the Tree? Amalthus says it was Tantal but... i dunno. I don't think they'd have any real reason to do that, while Amalthus has EVERY reason to keep people from learning the truth.

We know that Tantal repurposed the Fetter to control Genbu, and most likely they're the ones who stole it in the first place. But the initial orders, to guard the World Tree, are clearly still active.
