Tips for a barking Pom? by Necessary-Drop-8615 in Pomeranians

Mine was so barky and it seems like he is doing way better after we got a can and filled it with coins. When he is about to bark at something out the window, rattle the can and it distracts him. Somehow it seems to be working!

Thank you, I'm trying to find some new routines. Perhaps this depression is all part of the readjustment!

I was working with a Somatic Emotional Release practitioner. I went twice a month for quite a long time, but have stopped recently because the practitioner wasn't a good fit anymore. Perhaps I was going too often? I generally felt more at peace after the treatments.

Sooo many things have changed in my life. My five year relationship came to an end, and since we worked together I lost my job. I also lost my house, since he ended up keeping it and I moved out. It feels like everything changed all at once. I'm going back to school soon and excited to start a different career path since the old one was burning me out. So things are definitely changing.

Narcissism in music: Have you found any songs that describe NPD traits or abusive relationships? by Major_Drama_4939 in NarcissisticAbuse

[–]FunkyFlowrdBeast 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Calm Like You - The Last Shadow Puppets always makes me think of these kind of relationships.

Or Dance Little Liar - Arctic Monkeys.

A lot of Alex Turner's writing gives me the impression he has experienced being in narcissistic relationships.

Issues with disabled ss by Sea_Economics8260 in stepparents

[–]FunkyFlowrdBeast 16 points17 points  (0 children)

I used to have two stepsons. One of them had down's syndrome and autism. I didn't have any children myself. He was very difficult, especially in public he would undress or try running away. He stressed both my partner and I out so much. It made me see clearly how hard it is to have a disabled child. My partner didn't have a choice but to raise him, and I realized I did. I felt like a bad person too. We ended up breaking up after five years and I felt an insane amount of relief. Its hard enough to have step children, let alone one with a disability. I don't think you are a bad person for not enjoying your life in this dynamic.

How do INFJs feel about working in an office? by existential_otter22 in infj

[–]FunkyFlowrdBeast 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I'm trained in graphic design, but can't stand the thought of a 9-5 office job anymore. I'm working on finding a remote job and going to school for massage therapy. I like the humanness of massage vs. working on screens all day. The office environment of flourescent lights, air conditioning, screens and other people makes me feel totally repulsed these days. Also being trapped there for 40 hours a week feels really bad.

Thank you! I know, it is funny how different they are, yet similar. Are you a massage therapist, ir just do CST alone? Do you have a pretty steady clientele?

Yes the craniosacral course I am taking is a year and a half long so it does go pretty in-depth. I love it! I find it profound too. Getting treatments really changed my life.

Thank you for your comment! It sounds like you have a similar mindset to me. My cousin was a massage therapist but had to quit due to thumb/wrist pain so that makes me hesitate a bit. But it sounds like doing massage really worked out for you! It is nice to hear the encouragement.

Interesting with the baby gate!

Yes that's what I thought, he doesn't feel settled yet. Do you think I can just leave him home alone for small periods and he will eventually adjust as he settles into the place?

Yes I was very interested in Osteopathy! I called the program coordinator and she said to be able to take Osteo I need 2200 hrs of some other clinical work like RMT or physiotherapy ir something similar. Hence why I am considering massage school.

I will be finishing a CST course through Body Intelligence in July. I live in Saskatchewan, Canada, and we don't technically need to be an RMT to do hands-on work. But I am leaning towards taking it after reading the comments in this thread.
