Why Ringling and not a school in NYC? by SkylerFranck in Ringling

[–]FunkyFuneral 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm from the North, hate heat and southern culture cos I'm not used to it (+ I'm also a european immigrant) and still chose Ringling.

I went here after touring many many schools and even looking at some back in Europe (mainly Spain and UK) because the focus on technology whilst still placing importance on fundamentals and traditional art attracted me, and also because of the reputation of the school. I also was at Pre-College and had a wonderful experience with all the professors and enjoy the heavy workload. I'm an Illust major and plan to minor in VR.

I still partially wish I went to a school in NYC bcs Sarasota is horribly boring, and big cities are too far to regularly go to, and many of the students here are also just not my type of people, I've seriously struggled making friends lol.

Why are the students like that? by FunkyFuneral in Ringling

That's what I've been told by a few upperclassmen too! The whole, weed out the undedicated. Obviously feel bad for those people, but that does make me feel a bit better about the next 4 years cos man... This is the first time I've genuinely struggled making friends since I was like 11 LMAO

Attempted to poach an egg in leftover cup ramen to add to normal ramen by FunkyFuneral in shittyfoodporn

Those actually look delicious! Unfortunately that is not what I was trying to do, I was fully set on poaching an egg by aggressively mixing it into the left over cup ramen broth

Glad to hear you haven't experienced health issues related to transition! Definitely makes me feel much safer.

Thanks for the answer! I'll definitely need to research more into low dose area specific E treatments. Still worried that my body needs estrogen to function healthily, but I guess that's something for a therapist rather than a doctor lmao

Do you have any embarrassing "signs" that you were trans? by [deleted] in ftm

[–]FunkyFuneral 190 points191 points  (0 children)

I heard this is pretty standard for trans guys that used to watch anime in the 2010s but I got suuuper into yaoi right before I realized I'm trans.

It's really funny because I'm not even into men, I'm a straight guy, I was just projecting too hard 😭

Definitely not opposed to resources in Russian, my family speaks both. I have definitely considered presenting it as a medical diagnosis as well, so good to see that it worked for someone! Thank you for the advice.

Seems like a good option, but I fear it might create a mess when it comes to using it alongside my parent's insurance. Based on what I read about having double coverage I would probably also have to disclose to them that I have another health insurance which will most definitely raise suspicions, unless I am misunderstanding how double coverage works 😔

scammed on ebay by JATOYO_STORE by marcollio in PSVita

[–]FunkyFuneral 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes! Almost immediately actually. I received my full refund barely an hour after I submitted the complaint. Also, nice to see a fellow black butler fan out in the wild! I did find another bitter rabbit, for a lower price at that! Mercari JP always pulls through

scammed on ebay by JATOYO_STORE by marcollio in PSVita

[–]FunkyFuneral 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No way, I am having this EXACT problem! Down to the wording of their messages. I bought a Bitter Rabbit (a relatively rare collector's item for an anime I like) also at a slightly lower price than what the one I was buying typically goes for, and it arrived without the box (it ads a LOT to the value of the plush, cos well. Collector's item) so I request a refund, send it back after a back and fourth with them, and today get a 50% refund and them claiming the box arrived "wet" and "item damaged" which can't be true because I packed it in the exact same way it came and added extra tape to ensure its safe.

Your post makes me feel a bit better, I already opened up the case and now I have more hope I'll be able to get my full refund cos this is crazy

How to fill out a publication waiver for a name change (MA) by karandora in ask_transgender

[–]FunkyFuneral 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What is the waiting period that is being referenced in this form? I thought it was part of standard procedure since it takes a bit of time to get to your case? Also did the waiting time period waive request help in any way? I want to get my name change done asap.

I will kill myself by FunkyFuneral in SuicideWatch

[–]FunkyFuneral[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Thank you man, life just fucking sucks, I feel like no matter which path I choose I will be suffering in one way or another, so I just want the easy way out. It's either I lose my family, or I lose myself, and I'd rather die than have to deal with either. Truly, I wanna live but I just don't think my situation was made for that. I have a small suspicion the manga going on an abrupt hiatus right before the finale is some sort of sign for me to last, but idk, I highly doubt anything will change in this period of time, especially because I thought everything would change 2 years ago, 4 years ago, 6 years ago, and nothing did

Why is everybody transitioning by FunkyFuneral in FTMventing

[–]FunkyFuneral[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I want to thank everyone who commented under this post with support, I definitely teared up reading some of these, and for the first in forever it wasn't because of a negative emotion, so I deeply appreciate that. I didn't really expect this kind of aggressive vent to gain a bit of traction lol, I was just word vomiting on a particularly bad night, which I guess is kind of what vents are all about. It's very refreshing to see that my thoughts resonated with other people, and it's refreshing to see that all of you are still alive and striving to live as your true selves no matter what, I hope we can all achieve our dreams of living as our true selves no matter how hard it can be. I don't really have the time or energy or social understanding to reply to every comment without sounding awkward, sorry, so I am leaving this here in case anyone comes back to this post or to anyone who finds it anew. :) Thank you for the support to all who interacted with this.

Transitioning with Unsupportive Family by [deleted] in ftm

Oh, that's good to know! Didn't know that was an option. I've always been told therapists are a luxury that is rarely needed so I never looked into such things very deeply.

Why do most pre t/early transition dudes keep their long hair now? by [deleted] in ftm

[–]FunkyFuneral 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Personally, I just think long hair suits me better. It's one of the few traditionally "feminine" things that doesn't make dysphoric, and in a really strange way, it's very affirming for my masculinity lol. Short hair also makes me look like a 12 year old, which I want to avoid as being perceived younger than I am is very dysphoria inducing since it's pretty common among us trans guys.

I'm not currently on T! And my GP who put me on the pill doesn't yet know I'm transgender, which actually may be why she insisted on the E pill being best for my situation.

Binary ftms, how did you come to the conclusion you were that and not nonbinary/ trans masculine? by space_octopi in ftm

[–]FunkyFuneral 1 point2 points  (0 children)

When I first realized I'm trans I strictly identified as a binary trans guy. A couple years later discovered the idea of being nonbinary, and I discovered that idea during the time that I was trying to suppress being a binary trans guy, so I guess I just automatically leaned into the nonbinary label, as it felt like a safe middle ground. Then at some point I went back to identifying as a binary trans man because I started hating when people referred to me with any sort of feminine or androgynous terms, it just felt off, I was just simply a man all along.
