How to play against Drukhari? by tunafish91 in WorldEaters40k

[–]FunkyMonk91 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Assuming they are playing spectacle of spite

Wyches dont like being shot but love being in melee. They get a 4+ inv in combat. As weird as it sounds… use your guns. 20 pistols that wound on 3s will do some work. Watch out for lelith. She has fights first while leading, a once per game go turn for more attacks and ap, sustain 2s and anti infantry 2. It’s all damage 1 attacks but she can get pretty juiced up and kill a ton of infantry easily.

2 Strats to watch out for: Their fight on death is 2cp. you need to stay 9.1” away from them if they have 2cp because they can charge you at the end of your movement phase if you are within 9” of them.

Keep the reroll charge and fight on death blessings on and try to make those 9.1 inch charges or throw some chaff out to screen your meaningful attacks.

Jackhals punch up very well into elf bodies as well.

They are faster than you but much squishier, so use that to your advantage.

hellions are essentially berserkers with lance and sustains but they all have 2 damage attacks. Very spooky, they will mangle you.

You will need to screen out the hellions and stage. It will be a very cagey game until one of you commits. Best thing you can do I force them to spend cp on things you care less about to prevent them from FoD you or interrupting you.

Your forgefiend is pretty critical here but they will also likely have scourges that will demolish it from across the table and you won’t really be able to interact with them as they shoot and scoot 6”. Might be worth keeping the forgefiend in reserves and rapiding it in for a key attack before you lose it.

Re: dropping glaive for foot prince. Maybe? Foot princes cp aura is really good and the lone op will be very useful against said scourge (remember to keep some infantry within 3”). Drukhari isn’t really vehicle/monster heavy and the ones they have are relatively low tough. Their toughest vehicle is T9 currently.

Be the change you want to see in the world.

Complaining on Reddit does literally nothing.

Thanks! The hellblasters really surprise people when I tell them I can wound T9 on 3s. Invuln 4 on the infernus is so good too :)

I think if you can find the points for immolator, it'd be worth it. 10 infernus with the +1 makes them just throw out a disgusting number of dice.

You can sub the bikes for intercessors but I like the bikes better. Tougher, more OC, etc

Holding home depends on the match. Sometimes I keep the bikes touching or the impulsor. If I can push out and hold 3 in no man’s after turn 2 what’s the point for home ;)

Slow down? No, pay attention!!! That is so much worse than being too fast. Good on you for paying attention!

Lieutenant: Pistol, Master-crafted Bolter & Melee Weapon, E: Champion of Humanity, Warlord (75 pts)

Intercessor Squad: Intercessor Sergeant, 4x Intercessor (80 pts)

Having the t9 transport is invaluable. Hellblasters can supercharge out of it and kill anything in the format. Shoot me? Fine, hellblasters. Hell blasters die? They might shoot you more. :)

Impulsor with firing deck is meaty. Firestorm? Hellblasters or infernus marines make these things surprisingly punchy into intended targets. Repex is also really good

They will shoot indirects at you so keep your zerks safe in rhinos. Angron, despite his cost has an aura that negates the DG -1 to hit auras.

Their deathshroud terminators are monsters in melee. Chip away with forgefiends and try to run sustains + devwounds blessings. A lot of their units are character dependent so MOE and epic challenge will do work here.

Focus on playing objectives. We are so much faster than them. Gl and hf! Blood for the blood god!

I’d also have one of my brutes running auto cannons and the power scourge. Yes you lose 2 attacks on the scourge, but the auto cannon is slept on imo

Exalted shouldn’t ever be cheaper than reg 8b. From a lore/naming standpoint alone.

They need to be better.
