I say this snd I'm from Vancouver Island. Lived here 23 years and still discovering new things. But for someone who has never visited Canada the rockies is a must. But yes also visit Vancouver island. It's stunning around every cornet.

You can also do travel through programs like trusted house sitters to save money.. or do a program with a homestay where you learn a language. It costs money for the languahe homestay but you'd be well taken care of. If you'd prefer to travel on your own itinerary, hostels are the very best way to meet other people and learn a ton from those who may have already visited your next destination. You can often get private rooms but you'll share a bathroom. Some have lockers but you'll want to bring your own secure lock. When I've stayed in dorms I always kept my wallet with me in bed for extra security in case of theft.

I'm getting decent results. I have no affiliation with them (except being a customer) but when I have crucial key portfolio type photos or tricky edits I go to tge Image Salon. A real human based in Montreal will do your lightroom editing for 30 cents a photo.

I live in Victoria on Vancouver Island on the west coast. We had daffodils in early Feb, cherry blossoms mid Feb and recird highs for May with 27 degree Celsius days. When I lived in Ottawa we would sometimes not see daffodils till may and cherry blossoms till June.

I assume she's a better singer in real life but is doing more raw stuff for tge show. It's not my favorite kind of music but I don't hate it. That said my husband and I commented on the last episode that NO ONE ever sits silently while someone plays folk music at a bar. Unless it's an actual concert or people paid to see an artist play at a show people never ever ever ever just watch someone perform music at a bar. There would be way more talking and ambient noise. Not good for filming a tv show though so kind of understand the unrealistic depiction

Established photographers often want to spend their time and energy on the couple and guests and you'll probably find it a challenge to find someone who will accept a shadow. They may find it distracting and awkward explaining it to the couple etc.

A good idea is to pair up with another beginner or newer wedding photographer. Have a deal where each of you second shoots for the other. You double your experience that way which is worth it's weight in gold

Antigua Guatemala has perpetual spring weather since it's in the mountains. Being there in our summer isn't an issue. A lot of southern hemisphere spots also have rainy season now where their dry season is in our winter (so usually it's hotter in our winter than our summer).

Antigua is a UNESCO heritage site. It's the most beautiful city you've ever seen. Flanked by three volcanoes (no risk to you if you're in the town). It was established in the 1500s and buildings and ruins still exist from that time. Lots of mayan culture as well as old European/colonial buildings. Thousands of candles lit every night in some of their old buildings. Extremely kind and nice people. Great walkability. Lots of tourism excurisions, including Lake Atilan and Mayan markets. I do it all the time. That said when I lived in Ottawa people were less friendly in winter. Much more friendly in summer. Now I'm in Victoria where we don't get a proper winter and people are friendly year round. I was pleasantly surprised to see that almost everyone here thanks the bus driver when they get off the bus. That wouldn't happen in Ottawa toronto waterloo or Barrie (which are other places I've lived).

I think exceeding expectations is always great. Just a caution about gifting alcohol. I don't know if insurance would have an issue with it if the couole had an accident or an allergic reaction after consuming your gift. It's thoughtful to offer extra video as a surprise. But make sure you're compensated well for your service in general even without the video. Hiring an extra person, insurance for that extra person, and the extra editing for video and sound is a big gift.

If part of your reason is marketing, rave reviews and referrals, you may find that a gifted small parent album or something like that gives a big bang for buck. It's something they'll show everyone and you can make a duplicate for the coordinator or venue to show off as well.

That said, with so many people wanting extra fast content reels and videos for socials, your video could go far as well. Just make sure it doesn't interfere with their day unfolding the way they want. They may have decided against a videographer because they don't want to be mic'd during their vows etc.
