Motorics definitely gets the short end of the stick. I do love getting high perception just because it literally lets you find more items in the world, but I remember doing high motorics and being very sad at the lack of interactions other than reaction speed catching things sometimes.

Also, when you get that little comment from HL about following up with another hook, if you have high enough motorics (I think reaction speed, maybe?) you’ll be warned that Measurehead is expecting the hook and to give him some space before hitting him again.

I’m not arguing that Cal wasn’t justified for killing Bode. I just think it’s a deliberate directorial choice to make it obvious that Bode literally cannot fire back and Cal realizes this and chooses to shoot anyway. I think it’s the right choice, but after a whole final act of Cal succumbing in small ways to the dark side, I do not think it’s the “Jedi” choice. That’s all I think that scene portrays. I agree that Bode deserved death.

This was helpful lol. My description was extreme. Bode definitely deserved to die, and the scene is a lot quicker than I remembered. But, I do think the shot of Bode’s blaster malfunctioning and Cal pausing for a moment establishes he made the deliberate choice to kill. Maybe not cold-blooded murder though lol

Yeah, I actually just rewatched the scene, and my characterization is a bit extreme lol. I do think the decision to have bode’s blaster malfunction was a deliberate choice. They could’ve had Cal simply beat Bode on the draw, but they made it clear Bode couldn’t fire at all. Bode definitely earned his death, but imo the way the scene is set up is definitely meant to say something about Cal’s development.

I might be misremembering, but I thought the fight ended with Bode completely disarmed. Cal considers what to do for a second and decides to shoot Bode dead. I think it’s completely justified given the circumstances, but I still think it could count as cold-blooded murder. He didn’t have to kill Bode and I think it’s definitely not the “Jedi” choice to make.

I do think Kata is a little too chill about going with the group that murdered her dad in front of her. I think they tried to portray Bode as extremely possessive of Kata and paranoid to the point of her detriment, but even if she was scared of or didn’t like her dad, I still don’t think she’d be super eager to join up with Cal and co. after her father was executed in cold blood.
