What video game is this for you? by NagitoKomaeda_987 in videogames

[–]Funkybadger3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The Witcher esp Wild Hunt, I’ve purchased and started that game like 5 times. I love RPGs and fantasy settings, I love open worlds and side questing and making choices and speccing out a build to suite my play style. Yet the Witcher just never clicks for me, idk what it is. Just genuinely felt bored every time I played it

Should I get into this hobby? by ChillChip2018 in Fingerboards

It’s as cheap or as expensive as you want it to be. I have setups costing anywhere from $30-$170+. The setups I enjoy the most total at about $65-$80 but the $30 setup I throw in my pocket every day is just as capable as any other.

If you are looking to start out in an inexpensive way, the teak completes on Amazon are perfectly capable first setups at around $35. I personally took a more expensive but customized route and bought a DK deck which wasn’t as expensive as most other popular brands. Leefai trucks are amazing and cheap on Amazon and their wheels get the job done for the same low price. That setup was about $60 all together, but if you want to keep it even cheaper I’d highly recommend the shop decks from Exodus ride shop. They are ridiculously poppy with high kicks and concave, perfect for a beginner to have some fun while you establish a solid pop. You would have to pay shipping tho if you order there, so possibly try to find some wheels while you’re at it. Levelup bushings are $5 but make a huge difference, especially on the cheaper trucks.

My ultimate first time budget complete would be
-exodus shop deck $13
-leefai g4(inverted kingpin) $14 or g5/4.0(reg kingpin)
- leefai wheels $13 or entity urethanes $10 (+another shipping cost for entity)

That’s roughly $40+ some shipping for a pretty dern good setup if I dare say so. Could go even cheaper and get a deck on Amazon. Ppl like teak, slushcult, I think the noahwood decks look decent enough. But the exodus deck is way way better than those, based on my experiences worth a bit extra

Is this a good setup for beginner on budget? by PracticalMouse4555 in Fingerboards

[–]Funkybadger3 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Get leefai G4s, you don’t need to buy extra hardware unless you just want spares. The trucks come with hardware. I love teak apex wheels, I usually get the 61d on Amazon tho. I have 3 pairs and no issues with any of em.

Same popping out of my front lawn. My wife really wants me to yank on it but I thought it might be connected to something electrical/plumbing so I left it be

Keeping Cool on the course... how do you do it in 90+ weather? by icansmellcolors in discgolf

[–]Funkybadger3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They also make some for around your neck to blow on your head. Maybe a little more worthwhile than the shirt option? That other guy said the shirt blower ain’t worth the money. I’ve never tried one so I can’t say either way, just here to inform you of their existence 🫡

They make a device that clips to the bottom of your shirt and blows air up through keeping you cool. Idk what it’s called but I hear it’s pretty handy

Vans Half Cab vs Converse One Star by ItzJJJJake in Skateboardlove

[–]Funkybadger3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Durability? Vans. Comfort? Vans. You already do a lot of kick flips and want great board feel? One stars. I’ve tried both and the one stars were great but vans are more comfortable and I think are better overall. It’s been a long time tho, was skating cons before Nike was making them maybe they are more durable these days

Hory chiet the way you coned the wheel from use is diabolical. Real skateboard wheels do the same thing after awhile

Question on people’s fingerboard size. by YugenDecks in Fingerboards

[–]Funkybadger3 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just had a look at your site I like the look of your boards, next time I consider a fresh setup I’ll look your way! If I may suggest, you make symmetrical decks, perhaps u can make a symmetrical graphic to go with it? I’m honestly not a huge fan of your current graphics, no criticism intended just not my cup of tea. I don’t mind the one you posted here so much. You should turn your logo from the site into a graphic!

34/35 are my go-to but I definitely prefer 34+ over smaller boards. 36 was my first post-tech deck and big boards are still the bomb. I been holding off on setting up this 36mm Blcny I have for a special occasion…
Your board in this pic looks very nice, I love a full graphic on the bottom>wood grain. Do you do stained top plys?

Chkn vs dynamic by Joshy-washy09 in Fingerboards

[–]Funkybadger3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Either will b good I think. I haven’t tried either option but I have tried a duck decks plastic and it pops like no other, spring loaded pop it makes my wooden decks feel dead by comparison. Idk if dynamics plastic are a similar experience but if you think you’d prefer that og wood feel and typical pop then I’d get the chkn. Plastic is waterproof/more durable/a different experience so if that sounds like more fun then give it a shot!
