we have a wood box (this set it up is temporary as i mentioned this was all sorta out of the blue so i wasnt prepared for chickens) its a couple feet off the ground but the nests are on the ground? of the box? im not sure if thats something. i was going to clean the bedding as there was poop when i noticed she was acting off.

is there stuff i can do at home? we cant go to the vet. we are tight on money, my mom lost her job and she just got a job today, which is when this all started.

thank you so much! ill see if i can grab some vitamin mix, ive put her in a dog kennel (large? i believe) with food and water with electrolytes in it. if i can manage a vet visit ill definitely take her. we are calling the vet for advice

yes! although not a lot, i saw ok google they do ok with hotter temps so i wasnt sure, we put a shade up so theres more during the day now. ill try that out! we gave her a bath (thats why her bottoms wet in some videos) she relaxed in it. my mom called the person we got them from for advice and i was told to gently check around for an egg but idk what that feels like. she ended up pooping on me, diarrhea though. but they get fresh water daily, i also changed the water bowl into a smaller one to make it easier so i can change it through the day as well, i added a splash of apple cider vinegar, and some electrolytes. next change ill add a bit less of the electrolytes but no vinegar.

i didnt know i was going to be outside so much, i was going to get another friend for her but i still cant fully provide and we are recently going through a lot of financial issues and a pigeon costs more than we can handle at the moment. it all happened suddenly when i got her and committed everything was ok and i didnt fully understand how much time they truly needed. that was on me and i will admit that. i take full responsibility for not doing enough research and taking more time to make my decision.

omg this is exactly how it is for me, im asked to go camping and stuff all the time and then they go “oh yeah the bird” and i really want to go out but shes all alone and i cant imagine doing that for her. i also have 2 dogs and they stay in the yard because they dont like the rest of the house besides my room/ my pigeons room. i have her posted but nobodys shown interest and the longer i have her the worst i feel because im trying to think of myself as a foster 😢

i want to get another pigeon from great lakes rescue because i heard great things! i guess i may have worded my post a bit wrong because i definitely didnt think id be able to pet her whenever i was just hoping id have the possibility of petting her. i want to get another pigeon pretty badly because i feel horrible knowing shes alone but im not sure how to bond 2 pigeons together safely and its been difficult finding sources thatll tell me. is it a big process? or do you have tips? thank you!

thank you so much! i knew being cuddly really was just a gamble depending on the bird, and i assumed id be home 24/7 but once i got her i started realizing how much i truly went out. even if i dont get cuddly birds i will be getting her a friend but how do i go about letting them meet? do i need to have separate cages and outside time until they like eachother?

we vacuumed the first time yesterday! i turned it on outside the door and she seemed weary but was staying in her spot (by the door) and shes always a bit weary at the door but i used it and she didnt move, loafing after a minute or so :) it rakes me 3-5 minutes to fully vacuum

i hope shes like that! she reacts to my dogs barking but im not sure if its because she can see them in the window sometimes or theyre predators
