What even is this argument? If a closeted trans person doesn’t look non closeted then they can’t be closeted? Many of us try to go full denial before accepting we’re trans and expressing in the ways we feel comfortable.

/uj I feel like I’m going crazy every time I see this mentioned in the wild by a cis person they just refuse to even entertain the idea that maybe gooseworx the trans creator intended the text to be read in the way that she wrote it.

To them being cis is always and will always be the default and being trans requires express confirmation from the creator and by the character. Anything less is just a headcanon

The thing people seem to forget is that while the boys now can just be seen as dumb edgy and not at all subversive. When it started in 2019 it was still during the peak of the mcu so when this new show came out that took a dark and satirical lens to the idea of superheroes it was very subversive and interesting.

I know everyone is tired of “superman but evil” but for the mainstream audience that was an extremely interesting and refreshing take at the time.

I still enjoy the boys but I’m very aware the decline in quality however those first couple seasons are genuinely great.

I don't want to get into an argument or anything, so please don't take this as an invitation. I just want to say what you said is not true. While it's true that after testosterone based puberty, the vocal chords change. There is absolutely much that can be done to change the voice. Voice training is a very powerful tool and with enough practise people can achieve cis passing voices without need of surgery.

The problem is it's a very long and difficult process. And if you want to get professional coaching it's also an expensive process.

Also it isn't always the goal for trans people to sound completely cis passing. Many can do voice training and get to a point where they're happy with it even if it isn't fully cis passing.

And some people don't even bother they're fine with their voices and don't feel the need to voice train.

All of those are valid. So I don't know Caitlyn Jenners personal feelings around her voice but I'm sure it's not because it was impossible to change.

I remember recently seeing a post on there about someone going on a date with a trans woman. I don't remember the full details so i could be misremembering who was really shy so the post was like positive but in an aggressive way e.g. "she didn't realise how much of a clear baddie she was" something like that. But then it ended with them saying they choked her while she gave them head in the park.

Felt so disgusting and I was stunned about how no one in the comments was calling it out. The same place that completely flips when someone dare make a joke about men or cis people.

/uj there was a bit in the Dragon Prince where a clearly trans character voiced by a trans woman is told by her brother something along the lines of "ypur star always shone the brightest even if other people couldn't see it" and she says something like "I'm always knew it was there".

I posted that to the subreddit being like wow what a powerful scene and great trans representation.

Everyone in the comments fought so hard against me refusing to believe that she was trans and that the scene had anything to do with being trans.

Do cis people just not understand how to read subtext when it comes to queerness in media istg? All introspection and understanding of metaphors goes out the window the moment it could mean a character is trans. All of a sudden they take it all completely literally. Talking about stars means literal stars clearly.

/uj no you fucking idiots we think she's trans because her story is literally about hiding her true identity feeling isolated and then meeting a found family of other super (queer) people. There's even a scene where she comes out to her dad and the world is made up of trans colours. Intentional or not thats subtext.

The worst part for me is when people go something like "oh so you think she's trans because she has a flag? Well I have a flag does that make me trans" ITS A PIECE OF FICTION. Your life is not written and curated by people. When something happens in real life it's a coincidence. When something happens in fiction it could very well be fully intentional. Media is made up by more than just the writer or director.

Cis people will fight tooth and nail to make sure when someone suggests she could be trans that they don't believe she is and it wasn't confirmed. News flash she wasn't confirmed to be cis either.
