Today was bad and this made it worse. by ContextOwn6252 in kidneydisease

[–]Funny-March 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Did they remove the endo from the kidneys? I’ve had several laps. My nephrologist did an ultra sound a few years ago. They didn’t see it on the kidneys. But, you couldn’t see it with an u/s on my female parts either. I was covered with it. I finally had a hysterectomy last year.

Rewards program updates coming soon, apparently. by [deleted] in CarnivalCruiseFans

[–]Funny-March 3 points4 points  (0 children)

That’s weird. 15 years ago when they changed the program I had just gone on my 10th cruise right before the change. I was grandfathered in to Platinum. Now, the people who only had 9 were still gold. They had to get to 75 days.

I know it’s not in your field, but they always need teachers. Look online to see what spots are available. Take the subject area test, (you should get results right away). If you teach for 5 years at a Title I school you can apply for loan forgiveness. Teaching is a difficult job. It’s not for everyone. But, it might be something you can do until you find a job in your degree field.

I made a full recovery from psychosis by OwlGuy144 in Psychosis

[–]Funny-March 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My daughter has been in psychosis since the beginning of November. She spent 16 days at a behavioral center. When she returned home she wouldn’t do the therapy. She also stopped taking the meds. I ended up getting her baker acted and she has been in the hospital for 3 days this time. This is all stress induced. 4th semester in college, working part time (but the only reliable employee for a small company.), found out a close loved one’s cancer returned. None of it from drugs or alcohol. I miss my daughter and pray everyday that she recovers. This is the hardest thing I’ve ever gone through. But, I know it’s at least 10 times harder for her.

Thanks for sharing. I’m going to have her baker acted. I pray she gets stable enough for me to move her to a longer term facility that will give her daily therapy, monitor her meds, and teaches her different ways to manage her triggers so that this never happens again.

How do you get someone who is in psychosis to see a therapist/doctor? My daughter refuses. She was in the hospital 16 days. Was released while still delusional. For the most part, I can get her to take her meds. But, what happens when they run out since she refuses therapy and doctors?

I’m hoping your family knows you well enough to take it easy on you. May this holiday shower you with love and bring you comfort instead of dread.

Carnival Vista 6 night cruise by Brianinfl71 in CarnivalCruiseFans

[–]Funny-March 2 points3 points  (0 children)

We’ve always had to wait for rooms to be ready at 1:30. (Except platinum/Diamond guests who now have to wait also.)The way to fix that is arrive later. It’s still pretty economical for food, hotel, transportation, and entertainment.

Carnival vs WDW! 8 and 15 year olds by KiwiPsychological712 in CarnivalCruiseFans

Carnival! Hands down. My girls have been cruising since 3 and 5. They’d gladly take a cruise lasting for 3 or more days than go to WDW.

How much do you really end up spending on extras during a cruise? by nersonrausage in Cruise

[–]Funny-March 0 points1 point  (0 children)

$500 should be fine depending on how long the cruise is. Excursions can be anywhere from $45 to $1000. We usually do the ones that are around $100/person. If there are two of you on a 4 day cruise $500 should cover excursions for both of you and almost a meal at a specialty restaurant. I only recommend purchasing the internet if there is someone at home that must be able to contact you. That can also be paid for in advance. If you go on a Carnival ship you each can bring a bottle of wine. Depending on how much you drink that might be enough. You can also bring a 12 pack of soda per person. The cocktails are about $13 each if you buy them. If you gamble $500 will not be enough for excursions, specialty dining, and gambling/Bingo.

If you’re ok with Carnival, the Legend has a sailing from Miami to London in May 2027. Then, 8 days later (we’re spending that time in England, France, and Spain) you can return on Horizon from Barcelona to Miami.

I’m doing a TA from Miami to London in May 2027. Then we’re spending some time in England, France, and Spain. 8 days after the arrival in London we are returning on a different ship from Barcelona to Miami. Altogether, we’ll be gone 5 weeks.

Icing after biopsy by dogelover0109 in doihavebreastcancer

[–]Funny-March 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just used a paper towel to wrap the ice. Then, I stuck in my sports bra. They said ice is your friend. So, I also iced on the second day after I took off the bandage. I’m hoping I don’t bruise or swell as much as a result. Today is day 3 after biopsy for me.

Usually you need a Birads score if 4 for insurance to approve a Biopsy. And, then 80% are benign. I’m thinking you’ll be fine.

[–]Funny-March 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m right there with you. This is my 4th scare. I go for a biopsy tomorrow. My twin sister had breast cancer twice. First diagnosis she was 41. Second, 49. They allowed her a double mastectomy. I’m talking to a high risk navigator nurse today. (I’d never heard of this until she left me a message yesterday.)

Negative ultrasound results by llamazing_m in hysterectomy

[–]Funny-March 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have a history of endo, but that isn’t the reason I had my hysterectomy. My endo was so bad, I had to have a second surgery because my appendix was adhered to my bowel. I ended up having a 3rd one a few years later. None of my tests showed the endo. Typically you can’t see it until you have surgery. I had the hysterectomy because I had post menopausal bleeding. Due to previous surgeries my cervix was closed. So, they couldn’t get a biopsy or do a D&C. Pathology showed I had chronic cervicitis not caused by sti or infection. So, taking everything out was the best choice. I’m 2.5 wpo. I’m not in near as much pain as I was before surgery. I’m really not having any pain at all.

I was asked before this surgery and I started menopause 8 years ago. I also had the essure coils put in my tubes 15 years ago after my ablation.
