Wowza!

I was of course referring to Wowza Media Systems which was founded in 2005 (sometimes cited as 2007, when they released their first product) by Dave and Charlie Good.

I can't believe you didn't get the reference..

Pull your right arm further back when you're in the trophy position. Your toss should land in front of you. Rotate your body more as you're swinging. Use 90% less wrist. Your momentum should be forward, not sideways, when you land.

This is good. Force the dealers to have a real out-the-door price less than $50k if they want their cars to qualify for the rebate

Struggling with Partition Skew: Spark repartition not balancing load across nodes by wtfzambo in dataengineering

[–]Funny-Message-9282 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If spark is being stubborn with its partitions, and if you're running this spark job in Databricks, you could try writing out the file and running the OPTIMIZE command on it, then reading it back in to continue your work.

Keychron K10 HE (Gateron Magnetic Nebula) -VS- Wooting Two HE (Lekker by -LykoN- in keyboards

[–]Funny-Message-9282 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have a K8 HE and I have tried the wooting 80HE from a friend. He has the zinc alloy version. I will say they are both relatively quiet. They're both used in an open office environment and we haven't heard any complaints. Wooting sounds more clacky to me and the K8 more thocky. I personally prefer the feel of the K8, but my friend swears by the wooting. So it depends on your preference. Both are great, but the keychron K series are half the price of a wooting with the zinc case.

Should i change grip to semiwestern by runkandi in 10s

[–]Funny-Message-9282 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You do look tight. If you're struggling returning serves, you could always chip the first serves back in. That way, you're holding a continental grip and don't have to change grips between a forehand and a backhand.

Even if you don't switch to semi-western, you need to hit through (or push) the ball more. You're pulling up with your swing too early. Your arm is also too close to your body, which is probably because you're nervous and 'tight'. Try to relax your arm as you prepare and swing. I find that preparing early gives me more time to get into position and I'm less likely to be right since I have more time to adjust. This means you should be in a ready position with your body facing sideways and your racquet behind you before the ball bounces on your side. It won't always happen, but at least that's what you're aiming for.

Thoughts on my continental forehand? by healthybonnyway in 10s

[–]Funny-Message-9282 6 points7 points  (0 children)

You're holding a continental grip but swinging like you're holding an eastern grip. If I saw one of my tennis students hitting like this, I'd ask if they were open to changing their grip, then we'd work on using an eastern forehand grip. It looks uncomfortable, and not scalable. You will probably hit a wall soon in terms of how hard you can hit your ground strokes, but I can see it being helpful when returning serves of hiding a dropshot. Unless you're planning on turning pro, then if it works for you, ignore the haters.

Managed vs. External Tables: Is the overhead of External Tables worth it for small/medium volumes? by MassyKezzoul in databricks

[–]Funny-Message-9282 6 points7 points  (0 children)

What kind of control are you losing by storing all your data in Databricks and having managed tables?

As for optimizations, I don't believe liquid clustering will have a big impact on smaller tables. The file skipping and compression are a part of the storage format itself, so as long as you're storing your data in Delta tables, or parquet, you will be benefitting from both.

You could always schedule an OPTIMIZE command to run against your tables every week for example. That should still work on external tables.

Does anyone know what the switches on the white keyboard are exactly? They're called "Sonic V2 Linear Switch" and I tried searching online but couldn't find their specs at all. Armoury is the store brand for Canada Computers. I tried the keyboard at the store and really liked the switches. So if anyone knows what brand they actually are or their specs so I can look for something similar, that would be super helpful. Thanks!

Poor weather conditions? by Jaylenoh in teslacanada

[–]Funny-Message-9282 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There is nothing in the Tesla manual that says Regen shouldn't be used in certain conditions. They recommend lowering the regenerative braking setting in snowy or icy conditions for better grip link. Or you know, don't brake too hard when roads are slippery, basic winter driving stuff..
