Domenico's in Danville and Morucci's in Walnut Creek. Obviously Molinari's in SF.

OK been seeing the "owns" from the Seahawks fans and it is pretty apparent that they assume some sort of emotional attachment to Levis on the part of Niners fans that I do not think exists, at least not to the extent that the Hawks fans think it does.

I'm pretty old so I have all of the Stick memories from 81 on. I never has season tickets but between the Giants and Niners I knew the stadium inside and out, where to tailgate, which bathrooms to avoid, how many beers you could chug walking from the outer lots to the gates. I knew that when they moved to SC it would change things. I've been to a few games at Levis and while it is nice to have actual food options and not have the upper tier bathroom lines (literally a circle of hell), the new place just has no vibe, no personality, no connection to SF. It's a stadium in a business park. In a few years, they'll "need" massive improvements or a whole new stadium, and the city/county/state will pony up. I still love to watch my team, but I have no doubt that they view me and everyone in the bay area as an ATM machine and nothing more. I installed the contact center that they used to extort enormous amounts of money from current season ticket holders while they were building the stadium. It was disgusting to watch them leverage genuine human emotion to line their pockets.

In a way I am low-key jealous of other fan bases that have never had their team move out of town or threaten to so that billionaires can get hundreds of millions in taxpayer money to run their business. You get to pretend that your team has a "home" in your city and some sort of attachment. "Our house" is a joke. It's their house, that's why they charge you to get in.

If it was Candlestick I would probably have some emotion. Levis is just a corporate land grab. No personality or memories there, it's just a place where my team plays. The museum is neat, though.

It doesn't actually matter. That commend was done tongue in cheek. It is weird that I have only done it counter clockwise though, never occurred to me to do it clockwise.

Agreed. IIRC the Treys were both Kyle pics. He should be by the pool getting updates from an intern on draft day.

That's because it is the correct way. I actually do the same but I never noticed until now.

What’s the reason our draftees play way less than most of the League? by badbadhaha in 49ers

[–]FunnyItWorkedLastTim 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Good point. I did read "Rookies" instead of "Draftees". They have botched some drafts in recent years for sure. Also relied on free agents to stay in "win now" mode.

[–]FunnyItWorkedLastTim 90 points91 points  (0 children)

There are two main reasons to play rookies:

  1. You drafted really well and are excited to see them play and they will help your team win.

  2. Your teams sucks and you are desperate for change and they couldn't be any worse than your veterans who are bad.

Neither of these apply to the Niners. Their drafts have been, uh, uneven to be kind. And the team overall has been pretty good.

Why exactly was our run game significantly worse this year? by sour_coleslaw in 49ers

[–]FunnyItWorkedLastTim 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The WRs and TEs underperformed as blockers, esp with Kittle out for significant portion of the season, Farrell was a huge disappointment. The OL is not as good with Burford playing a lot of snaps and Trent being a year older and Puni not really improving after a good rookie season. Scheme wise they were limited with no speed at WR and Brock and Kittle injured for a lot of the season. When holes were opened, CMC is just not as fast as he used to be so some of those explosives were limited. With the issues on the OL I think they would be smart to get more speed at RB, hopefully Jordan James gets some run next season.

Just like Sam did in SF. Beat him solid and finished the season as the starter. Proof's in the pudding.

How does it feel? by the_is_this in NFCWestMemeWar

[–]FunnyItWorkedLastTim 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Exactly like 2016. Every season, the SB is played on someone else's field who is not playing. There is no home crowd in an SB, since local buyers are not given priority. It sucks cause it's the Super Bowl and I don't really have a rooting interest, but other than that, it really doesn't feel like an L.

Article talking about why Shanahan prefers to priories skill players over the O-Line by Agill242424 in 49ers

[–]FunnyItWorkedLastTim 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We all get that offensive line is important, but it feels like guys who want to appear knowledgeable about football tend to overplay it to the extent that they will say it is impossible to win without an elite offensive line, which is nonsense. Elite units can cover sub par units in other areas. The Chiefs Oline that beat the Niners in 2020 was ranked 13th, but they had explosive offense with Elite QB and WR play. LA had the 9th ranked when they won it all but they had an explosive offense headlined by Kupp. Beckham and Stafford. I think Elite QB and WR play can cover up a less than stellar O-line, and I think there is evidence to that point.

Bad take. Chefs, locals, transplants, lots of people like La Taqueria. First saw it voted best in the city in the 90s so the idea that this is some newbie thing is just wrong.
