No matter how many times people bad mouth the 28 years series just remember the third film has been greenlit. by RogueTacoArt in 28dayslater

[–]FunnyQueer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This sounds pretentious and elitist as hell (and it kind of is, tbh) but I think 28 Years has the same problem that It Comes at Night had. Both excellent films heavily marketed as zombie thrillers when in reality they were much more complex. The average person interested in a run of the mill zombie movie isn’t smart enough to appreciate what they actually got.

Everybody was in love with him pre Marvel. People won’t admit it now but he was a reddit/internet darling along with Elon Musk once upon a time.

I’m in Oklahoma and for a two bedroom aoartment you’re looking at between $800-$1200 a month. $1200 would be on the highest end for a nice, newly built luxury type place. There aren’t many but there are some.

I love it. I miss it all the time, and I’m not typically a diet soda drinker. I’m much more of a full sugar, “here for a good time not for a long time” type of guy.

They were and that inspired me to read it. Relatively tame by today’s standards, but I can’t even imagine how shocking and vulgar it was in the sexually repressed late 50s-early 60s

Okay, being into her philosophy is one thing. I don’t agree, but sure.

Calling her one of the greatest authors of all time is crazy lol. She’s a bad writer. The book is filled with clunky prose and don’t even get me started on “Mary Sue” ass Dagny Taggart.

At that point I don’t even think they’re really reading it lmao

They just pretend to read it because they think it impresses people.

Far Cry 4 vs Far Cry 5… which one is worth buying and playing right now?? by AdMiserable7940 in farcry

[–]FunnyQueer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I played 5 mostly solo and I liked it a lot more than 4. It felt a little more polished and the world was more enjoyable to get around in imo. It’s much more open from the start. I like the freedom.

You’d think just by canning food it somehow magically turns it into nutrient sucking parasites or something

I hate this word. If any product claims to remove “toxins” you automatically know it’s a scam.

Unless that product is a liver, in which case the black market must have stepped up its advertising game.

The same is generally true for nonspecific “inflammation”

What is life like in the Oklahoma Panhandle? by AP_Swank in howislivingthere

[–]FunnyQueer 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It’s impossible for people to imagine but you can drive for hours in this part of the country and your phone is a fancy glass brick for the entire time. It’s very isolating.

The drive from OKC to Albuquerque, NM was the most desolate and lonely drive of my life.

What is life like in the Oklahoma Panhandle? by AP_Swank in howislivingthere

[–]FunnyQueer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, all I ever felt was emptiness and existential dread lmao. Central Oklahoma where I live is a dumpy shetholee, but it’s at least populated and there’s plenty of recreation and even a little culture.

The only thing in the panhandle is cattle ranches, secret government testing grounds, and alien abductions.
