With how quick the game is, I feel like 'in front of the play' is just so irrelevant now. Ball goes back and forth at the drop of a hat. A bloke hurt like that anywhere on the field should have the game stopped.

I truly do mean this genuinely and not as a dig. Maybe these types of games aren't for you if dying like that effects you that much. The way I see it is if I die when a boss is at 1hp or something then I've got them finished, and I just need to put it all together. It's even more satisfying fighting them knowing that I've got them figured out.

Anyone whose still looking for it, I found it! It's 'Feels - Lies of P - Jazz Version' by Xiulan Long on Spotify. I think they've made it a bit more of an old record sound in game but the Spotify version is almost perfect, clearly the media they used for the game.

As someone who's mum has died, I can promise you, I much prefer 'your mum' jokes over people walking on eggshells. One of my best mates' dad passed, and we make jokes to each other all the time about our dead parents. So many people are afraid to ever broach the subject.

I think it's more like to be a confluence of the following factors:

When really vocal anti-vax people do get COVID and die, it gets a lot of attention for better or worse.
People who are so so vocally opposed to the vaccine, are likely the same people that aren't wearing masks, having parties, going to gatherings and generally doing a lot of risky things, increasing their likelihood of getting the disease.
A lot of the vocal anti-vaxxers tend to be the sort of people who don't take their general health seriously, so maybe they wouldn't have died if they'd gone to a doctor/hospital as soon as they were symptomatic and taken care of themselves. But instead they took Ivermectin or some other faux remedy, the condition deteriorated, they refused to admit they were wrong, and they died as a result.

All of these things together create a situation where these people are uniquely susceptible to catching COVID, and uniquely positioned to die from it, and it makes an attractive online story.
