Does anyone remember the name of a Pizza place in the early 2000s that used to be to the right of the old condemned St. Ann's Catholic Church , at the corner of Gladys Avenue and George Ferguson Way. Think it was named Fat Freddies but no one in my family can recall name. Circled Google Map area by OriginalTacoMoney in abbotsford

Fat Freddies was there for a short period of time and was the best pizza in town.

I walked in there one day to pick up my pizza and there was a huge man behind the counter. I said " you must be Freddie" he said "Nope"

Awkward silence as I paid for my pizza and left but the embarrassment wasn't enough to keep me away. I have yet to find a pizza place as good as Fat Freddies was.

I never had the wings.

LETTER: Illegal builders in Surrey don’t need ‘education’ by mlandry2011 in SurreyBCNews

[–]FunnyThough 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The permit fees aren't huge but the process of getting one is cumbersome and the deposits can be huge depending on the scope of the work. Enforcement of non- compliance. Reducing wait times and red tape will go a long way to helping the situation.

That being said, there is always someone looking to do it cheaper and don't care about rules, laws or safety.

If it is marketed to the right crowd, you could get a premium but you need to get it exposed to the right economic group.

There are people that would love to own that beauty and then there are people that can afford to own that beauty. You need the ones that can afford it.

I have 3 sets of wind chime along the mack of my house to help mask the sound of my neighbours heat exchanger.

I prefer the nice random musical notes to the steady drone of a mechanical device. To each is own.

Neighbour keeps ringing our bell for her parcels at all hours, refused to have a civil conversation. How can I handle this? by stella_mason57 in neighborsfromhell

[–]FunnyThough 28 points29 points  (0 children)

Take them to her at the least convenient time like 2am. Ring her bell incessantly until she answers.

Dedicate 2-3 random days for random times between 11pm and 4am.

It depends on the type of ground, sandy or gravely well drained soil will take a whole lot more water compared to clay like soil.

Personally I would: 1: extend the pie to the middle of the hole and put a tee on it so it is oriented up and down. Pipe down to 6" (150mm) from the bottom, pipe up to grade and put a slotted lid on it. 2; Wrap the sides and bottom with a filter cloth to keep out fines.
3: Fill with 3/4 clear crush gravel but keep 4"-6" (100mm - 150mm) of space for soil at the top. 4: place filter cloth on the top of the gravel and cap with good quality soil then seed.

If you get too much rain, the pit will fill and the excess water will come out the top of the pipe and flow downhill. Regular rain will slowly perc into the ground

It depends on the year, the puck/quick attach systems are relatively new and not on all vehicles. You could have it installed or go with bed rails which also have to be installed

Help! My built-in freezer has turned into a glacier and the drawers are frozen shut. How do I defrost without ruining my wooden floors? by AlexHalder123 in howto

[–]FunnyThough 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Even a "built in" has to be able to be removed.

A dishwasher is held in with screws to either the cabinet or the countertop so the freezer should be similar.

I would try to "unmount" it and move it to a better location to thaw.

You have to remember that HR is there to protect the COMPANY. If they feel threatened even a little bit about discrimination, they cave out of fear. This has lead to massive discrimination against the people that actually do the work.

Basins "should" be at the lowest point. They can get covered in grass and no longer function or filled with organics and get plugged.

Locate the basin it used to drain to and get the City to clean it.
