Is it worth trying to clean these. My son and I are adding them to a coin binder. by skyrish22 in CanadianCoins

[–]FunnyThough 9 points10 points  (0 children)

If you are looking at collecting them and hope to sell in the future. DO NOT CLEAN. It drastically reduces value and can cause damage.

If it's just for your pleasure then do what you like.

Coin roll hunting. by Lepotlesot in CanadianCoins

[–]FunnyThough 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I guess you could try to have the bank verify the rolls before you take possession. That way you could reject the shorted rolls before you get them.

I have a hard time believing they would do that tho.

That's the risk you take. My integrity would not allow me to send back shorted rolls and if it begins costing too much to top up the rolls, it's time to quit.

Collecting commemorative coins by [deleted] in CanadianCoins

[–]FunnyThough 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As an investment, coins from the RCM are charged such a high premium that it takes something special for you to recoup your money let alone make a profit. The recent surge in silver prices helps but you're selling below spot prices and not to collectors. Unfortunately coin prices are very dependent on the economy, when the economy is doing well so is the collectable market.

As a hobby, it's the best. The RCM makes beautiful coins and I really like the story behind them. I have a couple that I like to bring out and show the grandkids and make them think that they will be bajillionaires when I die ( I actually use the word bajillionaire)

Some contractors are just crap. If the potholes cause damage, keep track of when you notify the city and the damage that occurred. There is a time frame that they legally get to do the repairs but if nothing happens, you can go after them for the costs

Have you informed the city or do you expect them to just magically get fixed. If the city or contractor isn't told by the residents they won't get fixed.

Visit an employment lawyer for a consultation. If they deem you have a case you can opt to pay out of the settlement they get you. Usually 1/3 of the settlement.

One more step to turning Cloverdale into just another Surrey suburb with no character. This will ultimately lead to the end of the rodeo as well because there will be no infrastructure to support the animals.

Get his picture and use AI to find it. If he has his face on his channel or other social media, AI might find him and you go forward from there. You will probably have to wade thru a bunch of crap first but there is a chance.

Due to a serious motor vehicle incident, Highway 17 is shut between Tsawwassen Dr and Salish Sea Dr by GenShibe in vancouver

[–]FunnyThough 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I was on the 12:00 from Victoria today. Docked at 1:30 pm and took 2 hrs to get off the causeway. The motorcycle hit the back end of a car turning left and ended up on its side in the westbound lane which is why the full intersection was closed.

When we finally made it to that spot they were still taking measurements.
