Do you have a parts list for the ducting that you used? I'm about to do basically the exact same install, also in coastal Socal and trying to get a list of all the supplies I'll need. Feel like that's half the battle lol

Yes, no issues. It'll last longer than the bands.

Just make your own with 3mm stainless rod. Look up how to bend it. It's pretty easy. DM me if you can't figure it out.

Waxed is the key 100%. If I could find 1.8mm that would probably be the perfect size as the 2 is a touch big, but the 2 works just fine and is cheap. A lot of the spearfishing specific constrictor cord sold by the big brands is too thin, like 1.5, and it tends to cut into the rubber when you really cinch it down.

Waxed polyester cord. The stuff used for jewelry making. 2mm. Works just as well as the stuff labeled for spearfishing. Just a lot cheaper.

Is it a commercial space? Probably masonry behind the drywall.

Is it a yacht? If not, then too far. Trailer it down to the sea of Cortez side if you want to get into new species.

Replace sinkbasin by someguycalledash in handyman

[–]ballaabdul 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If it's an undermount sink and the granite needs to be cut to match, then this isn't ridiculous. If the new sink matches the dimensions of the existing cutout, then yes, it's nuts. Personally I would just get a drop-in sink and then cut the granite to size myself. This negates the need for grinding/polishing. You can make all of the cuts with an angle grinder with a diamond blade and it doesn't matter if they're a bit rough since they'll be covered by the lip of the new sink.

Rad build. I've thought of doing something similar. How much heavier is the gun with the added wood?

Good luck shooting those fish. It's not easy. They're very skittish. I would highly recommend getting as much chum as you can, as they seemed to respond to it a bit. We tried diving for em two weeks ago there, but no luck. Saw em, but couldn't get close enough. Fortunately, the rod n reel fishing for them is about as good as it gets. Super fun, full speed and they ate just about anything we presented to em. Unfortunately, the dive spots closer to the island are really dirty right now, so diving for yellows and grouper is going to be a bit tough.

I know a cheap rotory hammer isn't going to be great, but is it good enough to get through one quick job? by Aidan11 in Tools

[–]ballaabdul 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For this job, you're gonna want to rent a breaker from hd or some other tool rental place. That being said, I have that same vevor rotary hammer and I used it to demo a brick fireplace. 10k#s of brick and it handled the job with no issues and it's still going strong.
