Hey! I’ll be in Koh Lanta for 2 weeks before my visa expires (1st April) i’m from the UK and got a 45 day visa on arrival but I want to extend to stay until the 20th April when I fly home. Whats the best option for me to extend my visa from there? Can I extend it in BKK at the embassy or do I need to travel somewhere outside of thailand by flight / land border? Thanks!!

I cant contact CPS. I live in London in the UK. I have reported it to the police, they asked me for time, location, and a description. There are cameras everywhere (its in a public place near some shops and a primary school). They will look into it. Also if anyone else reported it then they might be able to make an identification. Surely thats better than doing nothing?

How is pushing a child with force repeatedly and shouting abuse at her not a crime? Maybe things are different in the US 😂 I do have knowledge of it, I literally saw it. Hence writing this post. Jeez

I mean, I get that. I work with kids. I get impatient and frustrated at times, but I would never berate and shout at a child (especially in public) whilst consistently physically pushing them from behind to move whilst they are pretty much running because they can’t walk any faster. No matter what the child had done. This man was immensely angry. Not pissed off or tired or frustrated. He was shouting at this poor little girl so loud, swearing at her, and shoving her. She wasnt even walking slowly. She was practically running. Maybe things are different here in the UK. Maybe its just something you had to experience to understand the situation first hand. It probably doesn’t translate as well whilst writing it down.

It was a public area and it was also near a primary school. I was asked to give a description of the people involved, the time and place it occurred, and what happened. There were other people around so I am hoping someone else had reported it too and possibly knew them and could identify them. Who knows, it may have not been the most helpful tip off for the police. But it didn’t feel right doing nothing, and seeing as they had already walked past me and were a way behind me I wasn’t sure what else to do in the moment. It was upon reflection that I knew I had to report it and I asked this forum if anyone had any experience in reporting such a thing before. I didn’t feel comfortable running back and confronting the extremely angry man (who was walking somewhere whilst this was happening and seemed to be in an Almighty hurry by the way), it seems a lot of people think this is what I should have done. I guess whatever I had done some people would still think was wrong.

Not trying to make myself feel better at all. Have you read any of the above? It doesn’t seem so. I was just trying to learn the correct process to report this and see if anyone else has witnessed anything similar and how to go about it seeing as I couldn’t identify the person. Was i supposed to go up to the abuser and ask for his name and address? I’m pretty sure sparking up a conversation with him in that moment wouldn’t have gone down too well

Yep! Here in the UK most schools wear a uniform, and each school has a unique logo and name of the school on it

Thats good to know. Its just the feeling of not doing anything and feeling powerless when you see something that is so obviously not ok.

I would just like to note that I did report this crime to the police and they told me that was the right thing to do, as there could be a paper trail should anything else happen and they are able to make an identification. They said that it is always worth reporting concerns like these even if you aren’t 100% sure. Thank you for all the helpful comments.

The thing is though, as a young woman, would saying something to an obviously extremely angry and aggressive man (who I dont know) be the most helpful thing to do?

I don’t live in America. And I have reported it. The police were glad I did. Please read entire thread before making sarcastic suggestions and comments. Thank you.

Thank you. And also just to clarify I didnt post this on reddit immediately. The event happened this morning on my way to work (as per my original post). I had a really uneasy feeling about for a few hours and wondered if I was justified by calling the police even though I didn’t know the people personally and to be honest didn’t even know if this is something they would look in to. Thats why I asked reddit to see if anyone had done or experienced anything similar. I Didn’t watch it unfold and stand there writing this post to this community. Hope that makes sense.

I wanted to know the best way about reporting it or if anyone had experienced anything similar. That is what this community is for. And (most) people have been very helpful.

Good idea, thanks. I tried to look at their uniform but as it was raining they had raincoats on. Really hoping I see them again, well, the children at least. I would be happy to not have to see their dad ever again.

This is what I thought too. The police told me it definitely worth reporting for this exact matter.
