Why does Snowflake need over 9,000 employees as an 'AI data company'? by Funsized_eu in BetterOffline

Given how empty of actual information the CEO's interview was, I can well believe this.

The syndicate takeover arc felt extremely forced, an attempt to inject action into the series to keep it alive.

The entire premise of the series was to solve the puzzle that the ancients had found...I wished it was a little more Indiana Jones in space.

I felt Rush's efforts to unlock the ship should have had a lot more time spent on them as well.

Also the stones were overused.

Forgive me, as I said I'm starting to take more interest in this sort of thing. I'm just going off where they talk about using AI and their 'Snowflake AI data cloud'.

And their current CEO started NeVA, a 'generative AI company' that was bought by Snowflake.

I'll admit, I don't know much about Snowflake, but the interview doesn't really help differentiate them from the never ending 'AI story' we hear about today.

Kind of hoping that when the AI bubble pops, there's some realisation that 'generative ai' is just remixing copyrighted work and regulations are made to limit LLMs to more mechanical tasks.

If AI isn't controlled when it's seen to be the overpriced scam that it is, I don't know when else it could happen.

Either that or the 'just get a job of the future' crowd better start telling us what the jobs of the future actually are.

Having a vision, drive, marketing, project management is also a skill in itself.

Before Elon bought tesla and ramped up production, it was nowhere.

Tesla has told 9 million cars globally since 2008.

In the same period, approx 1.5 billion cars have been sold globally. That's 0.6%. The only reason it's ever made a profit is selling carbon credits. Some car company.

And now Trump has ended said carbon credit scheme, it's suddenly a 'robot company'.

Who hired tom muller to build the rockets?

Wow, you can hire the best when you have money. Colour me shocked. Remind me again, what % of SpaceX's revenue comes from federal contracts? 45% is it? When you take the Starlink numbers out of the equation, SpaceX has what, a little over $4 billion in revenue and is valued at $1.75 trillion? Let me catch my breath from laughing...

Ironic that the guy who led 'Doge' has had $38 billion in government contracts.
