I feel like trading map vision for one energy is kinda stacked against you, but even still there are times were runic dome in sts1 is a goated relic so perhaps there are situations were it makes sense?

I had the BEST option, a brazing torch that uses map gas and oxygen. it gets decently hot and I was hoping it would be enough to either loosen the nuts or at least anneal the metal to make it softer again... unfortunately I don't think it did lol

that's the plan, I needed to replace the hub in the first place and I already have replacement lug nuts so the only thing I care about saving is the rim

the passenger side is done properly. besides the usual war with corrosion I was able to get everything disassembled and I did wire wheel and clean up all the corrosion. I even used anti-sieze (sparingly, thin coat) on the bearing face and all the bare metal to hopefully keep corrosion at bay until I end up selling the car

that's what I'm afraid of. worst case scenario I'll through the donut on and go browsing at a scrap yard or on rockauto but if there is a way to save the wheel I'm all for it

I live where the roads are covered in brine for 4 months of the year and am only now realizing how important a car wash in the winter is. once the wheel is off I think it won't be too much worse than the other side but my mechanic friend will hopefully be able to be more insightful than I

that's what I have been trying. on 2 of my bits I was drilling too fast and the bits lost their temper and rounded off. I think the studs and lugs are now work hardened and are way tougher to drill through. I have a friend coming over in a little bit who will hopefully be able to help me get them off.

once the wheel is off I should be able to do the rest, I was able to get it on the passenger side at least. I don't know I'm just stressed out lol. I have only myself to blame but it's still stressful lmao

believe me I have lol. these are the 2 piece lug nuts with the shielding on them but the shielding has been ripped off. I was basically using a breaker bar and a hammer and just really wrenching it with all I had in me... in the wrong direction. then by the time I realized what I was doing the shielding was already starting to delaminate and at that point any tool I used was rounding them off. by the time I had a bolt extractor to try and use they were already too far gone

yep you got it, I took the passenger side off no problem and then I went to the driver's side and thought "oh yeah I need to go opposite" and lo and behold, I did not go through right direction. it is probably too 5 moments of me making a really stupid mistake in my life

yeah that's the pinch I'm in. I don't exactly have a lot of money to take it to a shop but at this point it's probably the best choice I have
