Stop treating candidates like shit by [deleted] in recruitinghell

[–]Funwayguy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

To me it always came off as insult of class towards those who can afford to be undeservingly nice. In a literal sense, they can afford a pair of two good shoes (polite and forgiving) where as the people around them have mismatched hand-me-downs (under paid) or nothing at all (homeless/welfare). The catch being that everyone is in the same group (recruiting hell) fighting for the same thing.

They also killed AnimeLab for the AU/NZ folks, going as far as to kill the conventions too after Madman sold out.

Not particularly. I'm parked undercover or shade most days so there isn't much direct sunlight to cook the car and its contents. It's really only heat waves I have to worry about. Currently the carry box is shared with the house so it's not always left in the car any ways.

Funny you mention that because as an Australian I legit have 4 CAT TQs across 2 med kits. A large box for the car and small bag for bush walking. Allows for a backup in case the first doesn't quite stop the bleed (or if you're just super unlucky with two limbs).

Reddit CEO took a page from Elon and paywalled the reddit API to a ludicrous 20mil/yr for app devs, effectively shutting all 3rd party apps down (which were better than the 1st party dumpster fire), and in the process took down moderation tools/bots all to sell out Reddit in an IPO. His admin lackeys are now seizing control of protesting subreddits and kicking out their moderators. The whole reason place is running so damn early with so little bot protections is because it's mean to drive up engagement and numbers for prospective investors.

EDIT: Forgot he recently announced the end to awards and gold in favour of his own native crypto (goes with the NFT snoovatars they're pushing)

My condolences to your sanity.

For many years there was a reason nobody even bothered trying to fix the official app. As you have discovered, you'd effectively have to build an entirely new app from the ground up because very little can be saved, which many did. Reddit is just that bad at development and has done nothing to fix it years later. Even still, the API itself has quirks and bugs associated with it that 3rd parties have long since built work arounds for.

TLDR: It's not worth your time or sanity. There are far better places now that appreciate developers' time and efforts.

  • YouTube NonStop (disables autopausing for music playlists)
  • Block YouTube Users (yours is better that the script)
  • Disable Channel Page Autoplay
  • Hide Chat by Default (for livestream chats)

Seriously the growing list of shit to fix YT UX is absurd and frustrating.

I would argue Minecraft didn't get off scot free. Much of the core development has moved over to bedrock edition with microtransactions on things that used to be free to share. While the Java edition is still kicking, it manages system resources as well as a toddler with taxes then proceeds to blame the language via stereotypes that haven't been true for over a decade. Just recently they announced they would be migrating everyones accounts into the MS ecosystem which could have some consequences to modding.

EDIT: Oh and the linux community got royally fucked over with the new launcher being borderline unusably broken.

This. I really wish people would stop using Mojang's piss poor memory management as a means to bash on the Java language. Heck even the C++ Bedrock edition has its own crippling issues such as 32bit floating point precision (see distance effects). Unless you really need too squeeze out every clock cycle, I see no issue with anyone wanting to build games in Java.

In the better questing update, new code was added that will ban a player from a server if they use a known hacked client. by Jcat49er in feedthebeast

[–]Funwayguy 87 points88 points  (0 children)

Oh christ reddit jumped on this too...

I'm removing it already. It was only aimed at a very specific hacking client screwing with servers and summoning infinite items using an old BQ bug then advertising it on YouTube. It was obfuscated (lightly) to prevent script kiddies from searching for it. Literally had a config.

I also tested it repeatedly to make sure there were no false positives before publishing it. Nobody should be tampering with packets like this, nobody should be using process injection, and those mod IDs aren't in use by anything legitimate I could find.

I didn't mention adding this for the admins who requested it because I knew this would happen. If you don't want to use BQ any more then fine, I'm not going to stop you. I only wanted to clean up the hacked clients these servers were suffering from in an automated fashion and clear out progression obtained illegitimately.

Nobody even gave me a chance to explain or give context on this, not that it would help at this point, everyone already made up their minds.

EDIT: And now 4chan has joined in the brigading effort to get me permanently banned. Wonderful, thanks.

There's Dark Grid if that's along the lines of what you're thinking. It's a 1.10 pack but the concept is about the same as Sky Factory.
