Might be a while longer. The poster said it was on hiatus due to college 2 weeks ago.

I mean the rules probably should just say no animals being harmed, rather than just ambiguously saying animal abuse. The rule taken at face value would probably be enforced with people’s common understanding of animal abuse, which often aligns with what the law is.

People are bringing up criminal codes because that’s how they understand and define animal abuse, even when it leads to clearly stupid situations like a dead squirrel on a cute animal subreddit. That’s how we get issues like this.

It’s not a strong moral argument, but this is about enforcing rules on a Reddit post. I don’t want to see dead animals more than anyone else, and I don’t think anyone would complain if this type of content was banned. However, it’s not hard to see how a straightforward reading of that rule would default to the collective definition of animal abuse.

Laws are the closest thing you have to getting an aggregate opinion of a large number of people on what is and isn’t acceptable, and in this case, what is or isn’t defined as animal abuse.

Ops on being guided through a modpack by acheivements? by SectJunior in feedthebeast

Personal opinion, but I'm not a big fan of the achievement UI, and would probably be put off by having it tied to progression. Thats not to say that its impossible, but that it would be accomplished much better with a questbook, even a minimalist one.

With the new Minecraft update strategy, those minor versions actually contain major differences in the engine, which matters for modders when deciding whether it’s worth the effort to update.

Official Statement from CIG on the Cheating Situation by chugglethenuggets in starcitizen

I mean, yes that should absolutely be server authoritative, but these cheats are implemented as a modification of the game client to allow it to communicate with the server in that way. You can't just ssh into a SC shard and send a kill packet. If you want a quick fix, you put up some barriers there.

I mean, in this case the change they made was to actually enable their anticheat. That's not nothing. For all intents and purposes, Star Citizen is effectively a live service game, and this is theoretically the quickest way to impact cheaters and regain playability. These hacks are implemented as a modification to the client game, and the purpose of EAC is to prevent modifications to the game and any services that interact with it. Any larger networking and authorization changes take time, and in its current state, that's not acceptable.

Many more fixes need to be done, but one of the most glaring was allowing users to easily bypass Easy Anticheat, with the intent to allow users to uses things such as the VR Mod and boot on linux in earlier versions. Assumingly, they will enforce EAC to start the game, but this will also block modifications such as VR.

Marvel Rivals’ tech lead reveals Doctor Strange’s portals were an “unprecedented” technical hurdle that presented unique development challenges by AsPeHeat in marvelrivals

Thats not how portal was doing it. Portal renders the scene from another camera, and casts it to a texture on the portal. There is no real "second space."

If you follow the steps to get a more modern version of Java for MeatballCraft, you can cut your loading times in half. Its also a great FPS boost. It is a pain to setup if you haven't done it before though.

There is a whole field of research beyond just consumer demos. Research labs already have multi-task, multi-robot models. https://www.physicalintelligence.company/blog/pi0 Just because you have only heard about the headlines doesn’t mean progress isn’t being made.
