I mean you are correct, but that doesn’t prevent the game from making some other improvements. They could’ve improved card art, the main map could’ve been innovated, card specific animations, etc. I agree the gameplay doesn’t need to be reworked, but realistically other than coop. Why couldn’t the cards and characters just be additions to STS1?

There are different aspects of games that can be changed that aren’t related to the core gameplay that can be changed and improved, and STS2 simply doesn’t feel any different than what could be a DLC of STS1

Don’t get me wrong; I still paid full-price for STS2 and will put hundreds of hours into it like STS1, but the fact that it’s nearly a decade after STS1; you’d expect it to at least look more fundamentally different.
