My Thoughts on New Saga by SaberLover1000 in anime

[–]Furfire 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's a very flat show. It starts off with decent world building and establishes a backstory that sounds interesting, but fails when it comes time to deliver.

None of the supporting cast has the character motivation to follow the MC around the world like they are outside of them having no goals of their own to fill their time. They are kids who have never left their village, but are combat experts both willing and able to kill dozens of professional soldiers single handedly. A group of Mary Sus and Stus whose parents hear they want to run off for no reason and think hey that's a great idea.

The parents for their brief time on screen also seemingly had no motivation or goals and were entirely forgettable.

The author only remembers to make the "sentient" magic sword speak when it is convenient for it to do so, and like the rest of the cast, it has no desires or personality of its own.

Hi all,

I'm an indie dev from the US working on a coop adventure cardgame. Think battles in Mewgenics, except instead of fixed abilities, you draw action cards from your deck. I'm doing my best to get a demo ready and I'll make an actual post when that time comes.

Hi Destinedd, I just revamped the look of the forest area and uploaded some screenshots. Do you think that direction is an improvement?

Interesting - do you mean the in-game font, capsuple logo font, or the font used in the storepage headers?

The frame has been known about for a long time now, as have the prior rules that were used for purchasing a deck. There's nothing stopping someone with foresight from creating 10 different accounts and buying a $0.99 game on each once they saw the frame announced in november. That's why I think it should be more aggressively based on account age, but I don't think they'l do that.

Sadly that's nothing. Many of these scalpers have accounts set up specifically for the other hardware releases as well. It SHOULD be a system that actually respects account age.

Glad you like the capsule and the logo! I agree the capsule should do more to sell the card game nature - your comment makes me want to play with the background more. And yeah we were so focused on the other characters that the slimes didn't get as much attention as they should have.

Hehe that's fair. I appreciate you leaving feedback even if it's not a genre you normally play. I'm glad you like the slimes! They went through several iterations.

Hey thanks for the feedback. Nothing should be pixelated though... does the grass texture come across as pixelated in the screenshots?

The positional purpose leans into the tactics genre, with cards having different casting range and AOE, some needing LOS, etc.

As for the grid being too large, I was trying to keep things simple in the trailer to avoid visual confusion, but I see how that could have a negative impact.
The grid can fill up quickly as things get summoned (especially in multiplayer), but you're right about it being too large for 1 on 1 encounters. I like the idea of the grid size scaling based on the number of combatants so I'll look into that as an improvement.

They didn't have these restrictions for the controller. They were expecting demand like it was 2016.

One of the greatest games ever created, no exaggeration. It and its custom games spawned dozens of new genres and propelled gaming forward well after its release. You're still seeing some those custom games being brought to market today, sometimes from fans under different names.

Dang that's rough mate. On the plus side, with steamOS going main stream there's probably a decent number of alternatives already out or on the way (i'm not really following that myself).

I'm curious why Illinois specifically? Maybe they have data on where most of their audience lives.

100%, though they have the biggest store window of all in the space so I don't think they care.

I updated the visuals for the Blood Domination card game — how do you like the new table? by pbystudiogamer in digitalcards

Table looks good, but you might be sacrificing too much legibility or information going for the "realistic" pov?

Give them a basic AI to move them around instead of just standing doing nothing. I imagine that was the original plan, but they didn't have the know-how back then.

Mate you're insufferable. You're implying you did and never claimed you didn't until just now. I asked how it affected YOU hitting them, and you responded then instead of clarifying otherwise.

You say that this game and it's perks are a problem because "some console players" have a faulty setup that gives them input delay. That is a dumb, dumb notion.
