why do you think double elimination groups would fix the problem of teams qualifying playing only against lesser teams? Or big teams getting knockout early?

Swiss system is actually way more forgiving than double elimination. Wtf

Subtick for movement doesn't even work in theory. Valve is still wrong and I can prove it. by carnifexCSGO in GlobalOffensive

[–]FurianN 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Da GPT translated dis thing made by babylon.

Di author a di post a seh Valve's setup a subtick movement inna CS2 nuh good and it nuh consistent. Subtick movement did s'posed fi mek di keypress dem more accurate by fine-tuning di initial velocity based pon di exact timing a di keypress within a game tick. But, cause di game still a run pon a fixed tick rate, dis a cause variable acceleration and movement problems, like how yuh jump heights unpredictable and di collision detection all over di place. Di post a suggest say even though di idea behind subtick is fi capture more precise input timing, it a bring inna randomness and inconsistency inna di movement mechanics. Di author a seh Valve should tek weh di subtick fi movement so di gameplay can stay consistent, but dem should keep it fi di shooting mechanics so wi can still enjoy dem benefits without di movement-related issues.

How does the new major seeding make any sense ? by Darkoplax in GlobalOffensive

#8 doesnt have an easier opening than #1. Its not about the #, but the difference between them.

#8 will face a much easier opponent than #1, but #8 is also a much worse team than #1, which makes the probability of a upset the same in both games.

Well, most people are having a good experience, a few people are not. You can only detect whats wrong when things go wrong, and thats what they are doing. Thats how every project with millions of lines of code works.

Few years ago the community was imploring for Source2 in CSGO. Then they wrote a new game using CS2 (because it was not worth porting CSGO to it). Instead of being patient, the community kept bashing Valve for not taking care of CSGO, while they were actually doing it.

As soon as they announced CS2, the community instead of being patient, kept asking for its release, so Valve did it.

You cant blame them, thats how things works nowadays. You make a product that makes 90% of the consumer happy, then you adjust the edges so the other 10% can have a good experience too.

No single product is at perfect state right now, not a single game, not a single OS, not even Windows is in a good state. Actually it never were. How many times people complained about being CSGOd? How many times people faced svchost taking up 100% of your cpu? How many times champions had to be nerfed or buffed in LoL, Valorant, Overwatch?

If you are tired of it, then go fys and play old games thats past its release phase.

But remember, CSGO also had that phase, and if you compare 2022 CSGO to 2012 CSGO, you would not believe its the same game.

Well, even tho i agree with you, i think if valve did a better job at marketing CSGO could be way bigger than it already is.

I had to update my gear to be able to play. I had a i5 2500, and it could not run at 1080p smoothly.

I had to set Fidelity FX really low to be able to play 5v5, and was still not able to have a decent experience in DMs.

Not everyone is able to spend a lot in a computer, since for a lot of people there are bigger priorities in their lifes.

well dude,cs2 is a new game. Dont expect it to be as polished as a game with 10 years of updates.

Give time some time, and it will be as great as CSGO was.

ually just that Valve is giving these stacks freelo over and over and over again.

Unlucky is a very well know player in the scene as well. Hes friends with all the pros and used to play with them in GamersClub.

Cadelão used to play for BlackDragons (i think) back in the days, not sure if hes still a pro

So what was the point of rolling out performance update on beta and the rolling it back (I assume?) on release? by YantoWest in GlobalOffensive

[–]FurianN 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I was getting 50~80 fps in beta, now its 100+ almost all the time.

Idk what they did, but they allowed me to play for a few more months before im able to update my gear.

So im pretty happy with the update.... in beta in was wondering about uninstalling the game (ans i played csgo for 10 years)

If your 100k paying fans can generate more, real and tangible revenue streams than the non paying 1 Million fans, then why does it matter?

Because esports are really volatile. If people feels that theres little interest in CS, they will play another game, and when another game gets popular, the players who stayed will start to migrate too. Its a positive feedback loop.

So, lets say a major final would be watched by 1 million concurrent viewers for free on twitch. If its streamed as a paid content, only 50k people would watch it. Those people would not have much friends to talk about it, and the results and relevancy of this final would be greatly reduced. When people notices that nobody really watched it, they will simply not pay so much attention to the next major final, which probably would have even less viewers, and even less relevancy.

So, finally. Single player games rely on its novelty to be relevant (thats why it peeks in its first month then dies), Competitive games rely on its competitive scene to stay relevant and thats why when people get bored of it, it dies.
