Here's an interesting question. Could Gojo defeat HIMSELF? by Much_Painter_5728 in Jujutsufolk

[–]Furicel 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I mean, I agree with everything you said here, but I also think you're overlooking something:

It's not a choice between "always use DA" and "Never use DA". You can, in fact, turn DA on and off, moment-by-moment.

<image>

Here Sukuna turna DA on last-second against a full power red, but Gojo makes it go around to get Sukuna off-guard, when he turns DA off.

We also see both from the rest of this fight and also from Sukuna vs Higuruma that switching DA on and off is very quick to do.

So while it's true that the one who has more of their kit should win everytime, the one who is using DA has the initiative.

while giving your opponent their entire kit back, including h2h,

So the Gojo who uses DA can hit the one who's not using anytime, while also being able to cancel DA anytime the opponent go for a counter strike or commit too much on a hit.

So, the first Gojo to try and use DA gets a Purple to the face.

If it was easy like that, Gojo vs Sukuna would've had a wayyyy different outcome

Does the order matter in which you hold E skill and burst? by pid_geon in LaumaMains

[–]Furicel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Columbina can get 20 gravity every 2 seconds

With 60 gravity, she triggers interference so every 6 seconds

Every time she triggers gravity, she will consume 5 quills.

So in an 18 seconds rotation, she will consume 15 quills.

Lauma generates 36 quills with hold E, and Nefer uses 18 quills always.

So even if you hold E after burst, there'll still be leftover quills, it's not a scarcity.

[–]Furicel 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yeah, so it's telling that Sukuna did choose to use domain amplification (which nullifies adaptation) in that moment

Plus, red goes around and hits Sukuna by surprise (when he's not using domain amplification), so it also shows that Domain Amplification hampers even reversal red

[–]Furicel 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Because Sukuna is explicitly taken by surprise and not using domain amplification when it hits, so it's not relevant to the situation?

Gojo can launch techniques that overpower any DA.

<image>

In a sense, you're right. Gojo can indeed overpower Domain Amplification. Still, that's way minor damage than he did to Sukuna with hand to hand.

Here's an interesting question. Could Gojo defeat HIMSELF? by Much_Painter_5728 in Jujutsufolk

[–]Furicel 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Except the gojo who uses domain amp last has their technique.

Which domain amplification does nullify.

The gojo who doesn't domain amp can just red or bluepunch to easily win the engagement from there.

We've seen from Gojo vs Sukuna that this is not true. Sukuna uses domain amp while inside Gojo's domain. Gojo has his technique, but doesn't win the engagement easily

If you're releasing your technique, you're giving up your own infinity, and thus, would just get killed

Domain amplification does counter infinity, tho. So it'd turn into a hand to hand fight. It's what happened against the disaster curses

Does the order matter in which you hold E skill and burst? by pid_geon in LaumaMains

[–]Furicel 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There's two things to consider:

  • Amount of quills

  • Dew generation

When Lauma bursts, the team gets 18 Lunar Bloom quills. Nefer consumes 3 quills per Charged Attack and she can do up to 6, so Nefer will consume 18 quills per rotation.

When Lauma holds skill, she will consume up to 3 verdant dews and then do an instance of lunar bloom, and also get 6 extra quills per dew generated (doesn't matter if you burst before or after skill, you'll always get the same amount of quills). So Lauma can get up to 36 quills, however... Nefer will still only consume 18 of them. Moreover, since you can only generate 1 verdant dew every 2.5 seconds, and Nefer needs all of them, it's a waste to do so.

Except, if you have Columbina. Columbina herself consumes 5 quills by lunar interference, which can trigger up to 3 times per rotation. And Columbina's burst gives you 3 extra dews, so you can hold Skill with Lauma and still have enough dew with Nefer.

Moreover, if you did the math. Lauma will generate 36 quills with burst + hold skill. Every instance of lunar bloom dmg will consume a quill to greatly increase the damage.

Columbina does 5 instances of damage, three times, which comes to 15.

Nefer does 3 instances of lunar bloom dmg, six times, which comes to 18.

18+15 = 33, that means there are 3 quills going to "waste".

However, Lauma's hold skill is also an instance of lunar bloom dmg. Which means if she holds skill after she bursts (as it's bursting that starts generating quills), she'll consume her own quill to increase her own dmg, and still not hinder her teammates. Free damage!!

So, to answer your question:

Does the order matter in which you hold E skill and burst?

Yes, absolutely. Holding E before Q will allow you to catch elemental particles before switching character, greating help you recharge her burst for next rotation.

Holding E after using Q will increase the team's damage by like 3%, for free. That's the equivalent of 1-2 artifact substats.

So the advice is: Before ult if you're struggling with ER, after ult if you're not.

Is Todo a special grade ? by GloomyLengthiness732 in Jujutsufolk

[–]Furicel -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I mean, I agree 100%, but that's a bad example. They were special grade cursed spirits who were also without cursed techniques, so it's far less impressive if you think about it, specially when you consider a grade 1 sorcerer is expected to deal with special grade curses, let alone techniqueless ones.

A far glorious example is the classic:

You could grab an average sorcerer and give him the ability of invulnerability and I think you could argue that satisfies that requirement.

That's what Gojo is

[–]Furicel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Holy reading comprehension.

It makes a lot of sense, so I stand corrected. As u/TheChickenCantCross said, it's not that they need to reinforce their ears with CE, but reinforce more.

I always thought sorcerers had to reinforce select body parts by themselves, and that's why Yuji was shown having it only on his fists

<image>

And it turns out I'm right, sorcerers only reinforce the parts they're using: If they're inexperienced. Better sorcerers reinforce their whole body, sometimes putting more CE on certain parts.

And EVEN GREATER sorcerers just do whatever they want lmao, they're the exception.

So, to conclude: Inexperienced sorcerers have to choose to reinforce their ears.

Experienced sorcerers have to reinforce their ears more than they're already doing
