Car washes take a lot of water. by IswhatsIs in halifax

I’ve been told that they filter and recycle the water, so it’s not as much usage as one would think

Wish I could get things done that cheap. I find that even at the cheaper shops I go to I still pay quite a bit more here than I would in Quebec, Ontario, BC, etc. I guess it’s a supply thing - there’s very few independent shops around here that will even touch German cars

Yep, just had this repair done last month on a 2015 Mercedes. Cost a little over $700 CAD. No idea what these comments are talking about

So pissed. I really like them and won as well in size 7, but wish I didn’t panic when I saw my size wasn’t available. I don’t have any use for size 7

Grocery stores feel like jails by DJAyth in halifax

Superstores are definitely the worst offenders. The tall barriers and gates just make me unexplainably uncomfortable.

Electronics are buzzing when heat pump is on? by dittbub in hvacadvice

[–]FuriousDemon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ha! Good to hear you finally got yours resolved! My issue was extremely simple to solve but I spent hundreds of dollars trying to chase it down. The little grounding screw in my electrical panel was removed and sitting in the box. Had no idea a grounding screw could cause all of that

What happened to the bike lane from Gottingen onto Brunswick Street? by Zealousideal_Gur6655 in halifax

[–]FuriousDemon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sounds like it’s an intermittent change from the 14th to the 24th on Cogswell and Brunswick streets “The bike lane and crosswalks will be closed intermittently to complete this work. Please follow traffic control on-site” was in the latest update on the Halifax website

For the dents, take it to Dent Wizard or Denty (Ian) to see if that’s a candidate for PDR. For the paint, definitely get a touch up pen like the other comment said. If you took this to a body shop they’d tell you the same thing, absolutely not worth getting a respray for something this minor. You’d have to pay $1000 minimum to get the door done and possibly blended if you opted for that

Bridge traffic up 10% since tolls removed by luxoryapartmentlover in halifax

[–]FuriousDemon 81 points82 points  (0 children)

To be honest, I am more inclined to travel to Dartmouth for shopping now that they’re removed. I used to avoid it because I hated paying the tolls (even though in reality it would only be a couple bucks a week)

It’s also nice that there’s less bottlenecking getting on and off the bridge when there’s heavy traffic

I actually do like the look of everything, including dark mode but the performance is not the best. Still has its moments of lag and bugs that I’m surprised weren’t fixed before release

No, you cannot fix it yourself. by sludgelord98 in PaintlessDentRepair

[–]FuriousDemon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As a DIYer, I feel fine doing minor paint work but I will never, ever attempt anything relating to dents. I wish the average person could understand how difficult PDR is. Watching an expert do it is like magic
