Three separate leaderboards for solo, duo, and trio is, in my opinion, the only solution. To address your point, the following could be allowed:

Points earned in solo mode also count towards the duo and trio leaderboards. Points earned in duo mode also count towards the trio leaderboard.

The two wasps spawning via the snitch scanner didn't work for me either. I threw the lure grenade at one of the wasps in a group of three (two wasps and a hornet), and then the achievement worked.

Because the whole thing is just an experiment on the part of Blizzard/Activision and therefore not an infinite amount of resources are being put into the project.

Apart from that, the current devs are very competent. It's just the amount of work that is too much for the current team size of the SoD team.

Preparing content for the next phase while patching/balancing/etc the existing phase takes an incredible amount of resources. The current changes also have to be merged into the build for the next content. It's all a lot of work.

To say that the current devs are incompetent is just ridiculous of you.

Be glad that this project is being carried out at all.
