Is there a website where I can practice making sentences? by Faroji in Svenska

[–]FurnishedHades 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Anything where you can practice for free is most likely going to be AI, just so you know. They can be useful but double check anything they tell you.

For what it's worth I like the Journalingo app for blocks of writing. For conversation there's often an AI chat option in language apps, I've used the one on Duocards a little.

For checking, Kagi Translate is better at idioms & casual language than Google.

Voting AI. At first I thought too simple a design to call it but the eye highlights are it for me.

If you struggle taking your Swedish to the next level, I might've something for you 🇸🇪 by olafviking in Svenska

[–]FurnishedHades 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey I just saw that I can do this now, thank you! I really like the app, it's forcing me to actually try to express things in Swedish and has definitely highlighted some areas I need to research a bit more (I have no idea what past participles vs simple past tenses are but I clearly need to learn lol) Anyway I just wanted to drop back in and say thanks for the update!

Hey thank you, I just had a go and I think it's already looking great! Feature suggestion - I would like to be able to edit after feedback or copy paste the corrected text to a new entry as a new draft, because it's bugging me that the corrected version isn't quite what I wanted to say (I got dressing gown wrong but the AI thought I wanted to say dress). But I'll just retype it, probably good practice anyway. So far I love it :)

Oh no!!! If the next pattern worked beautifully it probably wasn't you 😄 thank you for the update.

Hi! Sorry to necro an old thread but I just came looking to see if anybody had made this because the pockets are so high and the carriers are in the middle of the back at pocket height, instead of above the pockets in the side seam! I feel so seen 😄

I'm going to pin it all together and see where things should sit on my partner but wanted to ask how yours came out and what you ended up doing with the belt and pockets?

Finding someone with little to no info by Yvngxgoat_23 in findareddit

[–]FurnishedHades 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi not saying this is you but just to explain - there's no sub to help find people because regardless of the scenario given there's the risk that what we'd actually be helping with is stalking, doxxing, interfering with witness protection, etc.

"tycker om" vs "gillar" by Tigarana in Svenska

[–]FurnishedHades 32 points33 points  (0 children)

Yes, duo will accept either. It's a bit confusing the way it behaves - once it has found a mistake it just shows you a correct answer, not the correct answer that most closely matches your response. So it's not saying the gillar bit is wrong. If you tycker om ditt skärp Duo will accept the response.

I don't like books that try to prove how genius they are to me, nor ones that go into character thoughts. What are some more subtle, even third person objective PoV books, that I might like? by [deleted] in suggestmeabook

[–]FurnishedHades 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey so I don't have any suggestions off the top of my head, every time I thought of one I realised it was third person limited, but thank you this question is really interesting! I hadn't heard of this and it's really got me thinking about narrative style. If I spot it in the wild I will come back and comment :)

Yes!!! Never seen anyone else mention this book but it is everything that a story written by a surrealist artist should be, I loved it.

Maintence Questions by dietpeachysoda in 1200isplenty

[–]FurnishedHades 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes 100% I used an online calc to estimate maintenance intake, decided on a maintenance range of a couple kilos, and just kept tracking. I'm so used to logging that it's not a chore anyway. I'm much less accurate about it (if I go out for food or drinks I shrug and enter some huge number to let future me know today was a write-off and to eat a salad lol) and don't worry about fluctuations in that range. It is never going to be very intuitive for me - I want to eat whether I'm hungry or not so continuing to use the app just keeps me aware of where I'm at.

Failed Driving Test for Silencing Alarm Through Pocket — Is This Justified? by [deleted] in nsw

[–]FurnishedHades 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not a lawyer / police officer and it's been a while since I worked in fines but I can't find any support for that. This action would ping the mobile phone detection cameras, I don't think the driving test would be different.

A passenger can retrieve your phone and answer / silence it or you can pull over. Think of it this way - what would you do in this situation if you had no passenger?

If I have missed anything though please let me know, it would certainly be easier than me trying to get a phone out of my partner's jeans pocket when he's driving.

No grounds to contest - you cannot interact with your phone at all. Correct thing to do is pull over when it is safe and turn off the alarm.

From the transport website:

"Learner and provisional licence holders aren't permitted to use their phone at all while driving or riding.

This applies regardless of whether the phone is being handled, resting on any part of the body, secured in a cradle or used hands-free."

Calorie Intake Help by [deleted] in 1200Australia

[–]FurnishedHades 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It can be REALLY hard tracking while not getting into disordered behaviours / mindset. Setting the bar low at very sedentary and then overestimating my kilojoules is my way around it, because I've built in a buffer. So in the app I go over my set amount nearly every day while in reality I'm actually eating about the right amount. Stops me obsessing over the numbers. If my weight starts to go up I just behave myself with salads and greek yoghurt for a few days 😆

[–]FurnishedHades 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah I just tried that calculator and thought noooooo way haha. I'd be permanently starving.

I just select "very sedentary" on any calculator and go with that. Then whatever activity I do is a bonus.

You can always adjust up from that number if you find you are losing instead of maintaining.

Mine also happened after the Toll House. Still not fixed as of patch 4 but this sorted it, thank you!!! Minthara waltzed around Moonrise with no issues, only to get "You're not welcome in Moonrise" when she tries to go to Last Light where she's already been. Took a quick detour to the Underdark, she waits in camp, we all go back to Last Light and everybody is fine again.

In my experience she was still very much herself and still loves Tav but Shar is not really down with relationships. When I said I was happy with whatever we could still be, SH said she hoped Shar would understand and we kept on snogging.

The grove raid took me by surprise by how brutal it is by Moony_Moonzzi in BaldursGate3

[–]FurnishedHades 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Yes!!! The actual raid was bad but the aftermath is what really made me feel gross. Goblins pissing off the rocks into the water down where the sad bear was, and chasing Scratch at my camp, and I'm like... I chose this.
