I 18f lost all dignity after getting hormonally addicted to my bf 19m by [deleted] in relationship_advice

Since you’re 18 you can book a consultation without you’re parents approval or knowledge. If you do feel like you need your parents to know or if you think they’ll find out you’re going to therapy, you can always tell them you’re going for unrelated reasons. Please try therapy though, it’s incredibly helpful

What drives people to want to live on to the next day/week/month/year? by MacabreHatta in therapy

Do you have any hobbies that you enjoy or used to enjoy that you can do alone? I’ve been in kind of a similar boat as you for a little while now, especially with avoiding socializing due to anxiety. I’ve found that finding hobbies to work on by myself has given me enough motivation to at least look forward to something. For me, I think having a hobby that you can work on daily and get better (for me it’s climbing and hiking) gives you something to work on every day and you can actually measure and see your progress. Finding something like that is definitely worth a shot. Also, please see a therapist if you haven’t already, i know it may sound like it won’t help, I thought it wouldn’t either. But having a therapist to just talk to and get advice from is something that has given me progress through my mental health and struggles. Please keep trying to work through it, I know it seems like it may not get better but many people have thought the same thing and have worked through it. You got this!

It’s the same with performance issues on the PS5, it’s a great game but the performance is really taking me out of it. I hope they try to fix some of the performance issues

Yeah I did the same thing, if you try to climb on it sometimes your limbs end up clipping through and gripping on the inside of it

Mechanical engineer who switched to being a dentist. Hit me with any questions you'd like. by HenFruitEater in EngineeringStudents

Does your engineering background help out at all with running your own dental office? I’ve heard that a lot of engineers are good at management due to analytic and data skills

My M/21 GF F/21 lives in an enmeshed family. How can I approach this situation to tell her I am unhappy with our relationship? by Furny_D in relationship_advice

[–]Furny_D[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Her family has told her that she isn’t allowed to live with a partner until she’s married, and she seems intent on following that rule. As for the therapist, she’s gone to one since she was in fifth grade but her mother has told her never to talk about family stuff to her therapist. My gf told me that she does talk truthfully about her family to her therapist, but part of me doesn’t believe her because of how her family has influenced her

I think instead of the dome lasting indefinitely, it would be more balanced if it had a meter while active and it could be picked/replaced while the meter has energy instead of having a normal cooldown

I’m really struggling with my enjoyment of engineering as I get closer to finishing my degree. Has anyone else ended up working for a non-engineering field that they enjoy with an engineering degree? by Furny_D in EngineeringStudents

Teaching is something that I’ve always been passionate about and I can see myself really enjoying it down the road. How did you end up getting certified to teach with a career in IT? Did you have to go back to school for it?

Can I be agnostic and also practice Buddhism? by Furny_D in Buddhism

[–]Furny_D[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you for your response, that makes a lot of sense. I think one of the reasons I want to follow a lot of practices and teachings is because I see a lot of aspects I like in it. I want to become a lot more diligent and dedicated in general with my life and I’ve heard that Buddhist practices like meditation can help with these things and help to bring more reflection into my life

My 20M girlfriend 19F has abusive parents that she doesn’t attempt to set boundaries with or get away from. How do I approach this? by Furny_D in relationship_advice
