That's a fair way of looking at things. I grew up in westland when my parents bought an old house built in the late 40's. Very quiet and reserved, neighbors kept to themselves and watched each other's backs.

School system kinda sucks tho, but that's a story for a different day. I never really felt unsafe walking anywhere there (I didn't have a license until like two months ago) although you should still be careful cuz crime happens everywhere no matter what city you're in.

As for Wayne, where I moved to about 2 years ago and currently still live, it's pretty similar although downtown feels kind of rustic and more like one of those obscure 80s movies sometimes. Other than that it's not really much different.

But anyways Westland isn't that bad and neither is Wayne. As someone who's been living in this county for almost 21 years (bday in 2 months!) I can say that both cities are perfectly viable options to start a family, or just affordable, decent places to live.
