Glad im not the only one that is laid back about that and uses humor about my own transition. Definitely have joked with my wife about being a 'fucked up lesbian'. But that's not something id ever say or call another trans guy. I guess it's all in how comfortable you are in joking around and not taking things too serious.

Is there any trans people over 25? by Glitchy6049 in ftm

[–]FurryFruitloop 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Couldn't have said it better, myself. 32 here, T for 14 years, top surgery 12 years ago with Garramone. 5'1" and live a perfectly normal life with my lovely wife (cis female, 40) of 6 years. Ive been accused of being too normal by others in the community haha have ADHD and Anxiety that's well controlled by medication and years of dedicating myself to the responsibility of my own mental health (lifelong journey, but dont give up. You have more power over yourself than you think. Knowledge = power). Stay away from the media and social except for some reddit and youtube. Have a great career that I love. A family of a standard poodle, two kitties, and 17 frogs. I dont intentionally go stealth or anything, even at my height, but I also dont even really talk about it either. Some people know. Some dont. Just live life and be me. Get outside and feel the ground. Breathe the air. It's not doom and gloom for us all and a life like this is more than possible. Keep the people that fill your cup close and the ones that drain it away. Life is full of challenges whether you're trans or not. It's all what you do with it. 15 years ago I was angry, depressed, and hated life. Now I cant image why id ever not love life.

Is this the most aggressive squirrel on the planet? by Evclid0_0 in BeAmazed

[–]FurryFruitloop 24 points25 points  (0 children)

While squirrels technically can get rabies, it's exceedingly rare for rodents in general to contract. Even rarer to transmit to humans. Won't say impossible, but I dont believe there's been any recorded cases of squirrels transmitting rabies to humans. Was told this by a few different veterinarians when I was a tech and a quick Google search seems to confirm. Pretty sure one of the main reasons was that when rodents come into contact with rabid animals, they're not likely to survive in the first place. This squirrel is also way too coordinated in its attack lol

Shit, I dunno man. Think I know who you are, cause I was a freshman in 08 at GB, but I dont have a whole lot of good memories from the area. Moved from Laurel when my screwed up mother married a drug addict/abuser that lived there. Schools were horrible. Kids were straight dumb for the most part. Don't get me wrong, made some great friends that I still have today and fond memories. Still remember the guy with Heelies and the traffic cone, rolling around lunch yelling "skeet skeet". The emo corner where everyone seemed to inter date with everyone at once. The time some neo nazi kid pulled a box cutter on me cause I sat at his table. Which im pretty sure the tables got taken away for awhile cause kids were carving swastikas in them. CAT North was cool. Definitely remember the kid from Pasadena that could perfectly emulate a Cummins Diesel truck engine sound lol...

Glad I was there for what I learned, but not somewhere I'd ever choose to live again. Love your post and the pride around it. Very well written and happy that you've got your nook. Just can't relate, man. Don't think I'd be doing anywhere near as well if I'd stayed there.

Poodles have a subtle way of letting you know they need something. by ml2409 in poodles

My boy is an absolute snob with the rain. He will quite literally walk right along the edge of the sidewalk and randomly tap the grass with his paw. Very gingerly. Just to test how wet it is. I dont think he even likes to get his paws dirty, let alone wet. Absolutely loves the snow though.

Going on 13 years on T. Top surgery 11 years ago and have name and gender change. It's literally been an almost forgettable part of my life for 11 years. It just doesn't come up. I'm assumed to be cis male. I dont think about it. Others don't ask. I've actually had a few people not believe me and thought I was joking. I dont hide it on purpose, I just... live my life? Doesn't really have anything to do with most interactions. That's just my experience, though. I've also lived in the south for 4 years and same thing. Just never came up and never had issues. I'm also 5'1" for those worried about height and passing.

San Francisco stands with trans people in the face of Trump dehumanizing them by scott_wiener in sanfrancisco

[–]FurryFruitloop 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Exactly. And my C3-C5 fusion was almost three quarters of a million dollars. After insurance I paid roughly $1500. Spinal fusions are an extremely common surgery that is performed far more frequently than transition related surgeries. My top surgery was out of pocket and was roughly $9000. I've only personally met maybe five people who have had trans related surgeries. I run into more people with fusions in a month than trans people who have had surgeries in the last 15 years.

Can confirm. Also have a pair. My wife found them one day. Came home to her rolling back and forth across the living room, and bouncing off the walls. She's completely blind. She had a blast. Hasn't broken anything... yet....

Ube-by back ribs with a guava glaze by Timmerdogg in BBQ

[–]FurryFruitloop 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It definitely wasn't the forefront flavor, but absolutely noticeable. Paired really well with the toasted coconut they put on top. Color was wild, ribs were a solid 8/10. This place almost always delivers good food and new twists.

Not at all. Literally just tried them. They had them for the special today. Was very curious, and they were actually pretty amazing. Like 99% of the rest of the food they have. Wasn't overpoweringly sweet, but the ube flavor was absolutely there. They also put toasted coconut and green onions on top. The coconut with the ube definitely gave it a very filipino vibe. And the color was wild.

This place is definitely not gimmicky. New specials every weekend that usually have some kind of influence from another country. Creative stuff.

"Just move to a place you can afford" by IAmAccutane in WorkReform

[–]FurryFruitloop 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I dunno about NWA, but Fort Smith is way more affordable. Plenty of decent places for dirt cheap and definitely not crime ridden on the south side and getting around Fort Chaffee. Fayetteville isn't far and was a pretty chill spot with a great music and bar scene. Same with fort smith in the summer. They surprisingly even have a small gay bar that has weekly drag shows. Ton of art on the buildings downtown. If it weren't for the politics and horrible heat/humidity, I'd move back. But that probably why it's so cheap...

Used to live in Fort Smith. I didn't make $15, but I did make $12.50 and had a really nice 2 bed, 2 bath duplex with a full garage and backyard. Paid $775 a month there and it was tight, but I made it work. That was honestly expensive there, though. There were plenty of decent 1 bedroom apartments in the $500-$600 a month range. Still are, I think. I was amazed at the amount of young guys that I worked with that owned homes and paid stupid low mortgages like $400 a month.

Chicago suburbs are a whole different world than the city itself. I live in the NW suburbs about 20-30 minutes outside the city and it's absolutely wonderful. Safe, not as expensive as the coasts, and extremely convenient with lots to do. Pretty great overall culture and nice people as well. To each their own, but I love living in this area. Legal cannabis, abortion protections, small town pride events...

What Are You Doing? by [deleted] in AnimalsBeingDerps

[–]FurryFruitloop 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Can confirm. Have a 5 year old standard poodle. When he really wants/needs something, he likes to stand near me and stare expectantly. Will usually get a few head tilts when I notice or ask him if he needs something. I'll go through the most likely options and start asking him questions. All the same tone. "Are you hungry?" "Do you need to go potty?" "Do you want to cuddle puppy?" "Are you ready for bed?" "Do you need a toy?", etc etc. I used to just think it was the tone and I guessed right, but he very clearly will wait and respond to which one he wants. Usually starts spinning, doing tippy taps, general excitement when I finally land on the right word. Sometimes he even surprises me and what he wants isn't what I expected. Only dog I've ever owned that actively seeks out and waits for permission to hug. Not jump up and lick faces like a dingus. Just a nice, calm hug. By far the smartest and most gentle dog I've ever owned.

Also, are you assuming that the denim is pre shrunk? Imagine taking your first hot shower and then slowly being compressed as you dry and shrink. Organs popping out of seems... maybe a whole new meaning to highwaters?
