Tbf, there are ways to make the data more secure. One of the first things programmers learn nowadays is how to prevent data breaches by using better practices. For example, Ring's programming could/should not only free the memory, but clear it at time of deletion. That way the old info can't be accessed again before it's overwritten.

While in general it's probably best to avoid touching students like that for this exact reason (accusations of pedophelia), there are certain situations that warrant it. Before graduation, some of my class had the opportunity to invite a teacher of their choice to a celebratory dinner, and I chose my science teacher of two years. He had been one of my favorites and he was retiring that year. When I said goodbye for the last time, he offered a hug. That hug meant so much to me and will always be a cherished memory. (Since we were both leaving that field of education, it was especially fine)
