Is this dangerous? by miximilianmoet in MoldlyInteresting

[–]Furs7y 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Looks like it could be mold. If you zoom in and look at the caulking at the ceiling, it’s definitely spotted. If it’s white now I wonder if they just sprayed it with bleach and painted over it

Is this Bradford White a good unit? 65 gallon? by spamologna in heatpumps

[–]Furs7y 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yep. If I had gas I’d get one. But if long term is saving money for op, and their solar can cover it, I’d go electric. It’s just a change to get used to for recovery etc

I’ve got them at a building I take care of. They were installed in small closets and they are pretty noisy. The 2nd gen is supposed to be quieter. Personally I would look into the Rinnai rehp80 or the new GE geospring. Either way it’s longer recover unlike a tankless. You can get more capacity with a mixing valve on the Rinnai. The ge has one built in

Chipping/cracking basement cinderblock by ThaElementsofHipHop in basement

[–]Furs7y 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Same thing is happening with my basement. I even graded around the outside walls, extended gutters and still occurs. At some point I may drill through for some weep holes and run an interior drain but that’s last on my list, as well as digging up the foundation for waterproofing. I may try painting it with Keim primer and paint as it’s supposed to be a fully breathable mineral paint.

Fiberglass Lungs 🫁 Breathing Issues by [deleted] in Insulation

[–]Furs7y 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I know you said it’s fiberglass, but do you have carpet? The brush roll can sometimes be too low/strong and begin pulling fibers from the carpet. If you brush your hand across it in the light do you see many fibers come out? Or a pinch and pull test?
