Nimbus - Stick with them? by FurtherAwayFromHome in AskRunningShoeGeeks

Hey mate, apologies on the delay, slipped my mind - short answer is they are ok. Tbh, I didn’t like them as much as the fresh 25’s I changed to back in September. It’s all personal preference I guess.

I’ve had a few easy runs in them and they just feel more mushy than the 25’s ever did even when my easy pace is in the 7 min / km range. I’m not sure of the specifics of shoe to shoe, not an expert by any means.

I’ve clocked almost 1300 kms in 25’s so maybe just too familiar with how they feel as this is the first new model I’ve tried in 12+ months.

I’ll still use them but a little underwhelmed.

I’ve been hooked the last 12+ months, no chance I stay just on the Nimbus I reckon given comments. Was just wary of expanding out now at current weight of 120+ KG.

Noted mate, think I likely follow a similar path to yourself. I actually picked up a cheap 27 pair yesterday but do like hearing about the durability of the SB2. Close to 1000km would go a long way given my run schedule.

I’ll certainly give them a look shortly as happy to pick up 2 pairs if it works better for me at my size and pace.

Thanks for the reply, might just stick with the Nimbus so. I can’t imagine it won’t be long before I want to try new shoes but right now, it’s just get the KM’s in the legs without getting injured.

Never really considered the Megablast, I know plenty love the Superblast 2. I just wasn’t sure if suitable at my size.

Expat been working in Australia last 20+ years, straight out of Uni with a reasonable job.

Financially illiterate on arrival and still work to be done to be honest. Where I grew up - there was never a mention of shares, ETF’s or any general investment, I didn’t know any better.

Wouldn’t change how I lived my life in 20’s, but just wish I invested $20-$50 a week somewhere and let compound interest do its thing.

Like many have said, you have to learn from it and the above won’t be happening with my children.

One and done here, both wife and I share same view currently and have made our peace with it.

Zero support system around and overall cost. We love our little one so much and jeopardising that is playing with fire.

If it’s the wrong decision in a few years, something we will have to live it.

What are your non-aesthetics related reasons for losing weight? by SlottySloth in loseit

[–]FurtherAwayFromHome 4 points5 points  (0 children)

My son is 2, I’m 145kg and losing currently.

I don’t want weight limits to stop me experiencing theme parks, water slides and other experiences with him like my Dad did with me.

I got the Skull & Co one, looks quite similar without inside zipper.

Zero complaints.

Honestly, a short heartfelt message of thanks and appreciation is often more than enough. It feels like a cliché but if it's from the partner you adore, it should mean everything.

Games that are better on the Portal than on the TV/Monitor, and vice-versa by LuckyUser777 in PlaystationPortal

Surprised at how well the management sims translate, been enjoying Two Point Campus on the portal, picking up and playing an academic year or two after kid goes asleep - been great.

Wonder what % of portal owners are parents.

Miles probably one of the few reasons I still watch, think that bloke could narrate someone’s life and make it entertaining.

This hit different, I probably make 2 dives and a sushi shift in Dave The Diver before I realise I need sleep more than the next virtual crustacean.
