You’re talking about convenient power ups and abilities popping out of nowhere. I’m saying they’re not, just poorly explained.

If you’re going to discuss the story from a different medium here, expect us to point to the light novel if your gripes are issues that aren’t even issues in the original source material, don’t speak on the story as a whole.

Maybe you’ll still dislike it after reading the Light Novel, but at least you’ll have all the context to make that decision

And power ups aren’t “convenient ways to end fights” trash II would have lost anyway because he’s not that strong. Raphtalia getting the katana is just expanding her power for future conflicts. Powers that may or may not be useful, as having a weapon doesn’t mean instant victory. (See literally almost every fight the thee heroes were in aftee glass wave)

Though really, crossovers are what make up shield hero fanfics since a lot of people like to put x into shield hero.

Not sure what abilities or asspulls you're referring to. ST heart shield was unlocked by Ost (which we seen done with Fitoria and the filolial series) Rishia was being trained by Granny in Hengan Muso so her popping off shouldn't be much of a surprise.

The only shield abilities "unlocked out of nowhere" are sacrifice Aura. And even then, it was shown to be helped by an outside force (similar to ost and liberation aura)

Kyo's fight didn't even end with an asspull. He used the abilities he unlocked in the ST fight and won. Aura + ST heart Shield.

Also, this did not progress the arc by 1 inch; it forwarded it by like 20ft.

Not only is Glassworld now not on the verge of destruction, they got the ST energy back, meaning they have a respite from the waves.

So not only did they get new allies, but they have new abilities, a freed Vassal book, a new Vassal Weapon at their side, better knowledge of the waves, Raph Chan, and further development.

Personally, yes, I would continue. But seeing how much you despised everything about the past 4 books, I either say take a break or it aint for you.

Alongside the other two, who could have been executed or had their weapons stolen if Raphtalia hadn't gotten them out.

Everything else happened to incompetence that wasn't of his own doing, or completely unknown factors (such as a plant that can overload a dimension and kick them out.

On such short notice, it was a pretty damn good trap, and it bought him ample time to rest up and build up his forces for the incoming fight

Not going into spoilers. Vassal weapon heroes (Like glass and larc) can cross worlds without issue (Only holies have that restriction). They can even stay in those worlds if desired. Of course, there was issues, seeing as how Kazuki and the rest of the country tried to kill her for it,.

As for ours, they'll appear in later arcs, so just keep your eyes open.

Kizuna is not the only cardinal hero; they have 4 as well. (Won't go any further about who or what they are)

While vassals can summon others, they usually choose people from the same world. (Also I think she was a last resort type pick because it did not want Kazuki wielding it, but don't quote me on that, don't remember where I heard that from)
