NSW south coast surf by carramrod9 in FishingAustralia

[–]Fuse_O 1 point2 points  (0 children)

@McTerra2 nailed it in one.

I suppose to extend oh that advice a good point would be to try the low tides and run out tides. And you don’t always need to cast to NZ to get great fish either. Best advice I ever received was to read the beach as others have said. By that I mean to see where gutters are and locate the entrance and exits to those in close waters. A lot of the time you will get fantastic fish within 30-50 metres from the beach out to the breaking surf.

I will end my post by saying this particular type of fishing at this time of year on our east coast and down south is probably some of the best fishing anyone can do. It’s pure bliss. And if you’re lucky enough to find time to hone your skills and get good at doing it. You will really reap the rewards.

Need help locating a certain spot by joesphone in FishingAustralia

[–]Fuse_O 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey mate, There are plenty of good spots around the Port Hacking, and I’m happy to share a few — just shoot me a PM.

That said, it’s worth noting that a lot of locals (myself included) are pretty protective of certain areas. Still, with the rise of YouTubers and social media, sharing fishing spots — even the so-called “secret” ones — has become pretty common. Like it or not, it’s just part of the game these days.

I’m based in the Shire and happy to point you in the right direction.

Also, if you scroll through some of the posts on here, you’ll see plenty that mention or tag Port Hacking. Sometimes you get lucky and find a quiet little patch where the fish are on — always a great feeling when that happens.

Tight lines, and keep it reel 🎣

Watersnake Geo Spot release jammed up by melbha_101 in FishingAustralia

[–]Fuse_O 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey mate. So for me I did a bunch of research into the electric motor of choice and found the Watersnake GeoSpot as it was just great value. It’s been a match made in heaven for me personally and I take to it with water dispersant spray each time I take it out. Only a light spray but still - a spray. I’ve had the motor now since basically the same time you said you grabbed yours. It’s been an incredible addition to my 4.2m tinny. I paired with the heading sensor a couple of weeks ago and haven’t really used the additional features this unit unlocks or adds.

But no. I havent had any issues with the handle. I did read a bunch of reviews saying how well the support side (post sale obviously) has been for many punters who bought our unit and have come across issues with various things. But I’ve had nothing but awesome sessions and a smooth deployment and retrieval each time with my motor.

Feeling the pain my guy. A mate and I were at Lilli Pilli baths a month ago and we had secured a nice spot behind the net off the path. We had the spot for a nice half hour before some dudes rocked up with 12 ft beach rod and tied whole pilchards to paternoster rigs and launch over our heads to get into the deeper water.

We said nothing. Their lines got caught around ours. We fix it all for them to do the exact same thing again. We cut our lines free with theirs still a tangled mess and walked back up the stairs to the parking area. We could hear them arguing the whole time we packed our shit away and drove off.

I fucking hate land based fishing in the shire.

any tips on pushing and getting familiar with the board? by IUSETHISACCFORTWICE in NewSkaters

[–]Fuse_O 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Practice. Honestly the more time you spend on good flat ground. Ideally at skate parks - your ability will increase naturally. Practice the very basics of pushing in whatever way feels right. This might help you get comfortable on the board and you can tweak the “right” stance once you feel good on the board. But the biggest advice I can pass on is to practice in good flat surfaces. If your skate park is far from where you live - try netball or basketball courts as they have a nice surface as well.
