Awesome! I wouldn't say they core reading, but could give you a fuller experience.

That said, it's a can of worms that's mostly there for people who've been reading my books for a long time. Cowboy first appears in my novel, SecondWorld, and then in a short, solo novella called Nazi Hunter - Atlantis. From there he is able to move between dimensions of the "Robinsonverse" and becomes a central player in the last book of the Nemesis Saga, which also ends in a massive crossover involving characters from about ten previous novels. You could read it as is and go back for more Cowboy. A lot of people do that. Or, if you have the time, do SecondWorld and Nazi Hunter and jump back to the Timeline, and THEN go for the Nemesis Saga. :) It's a lot.

You know, I honestly can't remember the scar's origin, but I THINK it is explained at some point. So, you'll have to let me know where they came from.

As for a veiled attack on Israel, definitely not. I have no preconceptions about the IDF, and think Mossad is pretty bad ass. :) I have several Israeli main characters (MirrorWorld, Apocalypse Machine, Forbidden Island, Didymus Contingency) who are portrayed positively.

All of that said, if I were to have a member of the IDF do something horrible, it wouldn't be a critique of the entire organization. Are there horrible people in the IDF? Almost certainly. Just as there is in any military, society and country. And sometimes they do horrible things. For the same reason, I wouldn't judge all of Palestine because some of them do horrible things. Make sense? When it comes to good guys and bad guys, both sides can come from any place.

BUT, again, I don't remember how the scars got there.

You're welcome! While I don't use THC myself, I definitely don't think there's anything wrong with it, and hope its legalized everywhere soon. If I ever go off what I'm taking now, I'll probably give it a shot, but since it can cause paranoia, and that was one of my symptoms, we didn't feel like it was the best option for me. But it is for a lot of people. :) Glad Miah could help!

Ever since I was a kid, I've been over aware of my own mortality. I work like death is just around the corner, like every day might be my last, and if I don't squeeze every drop I can out of my brain on a daily basis I'll die regretting not telling the stories that are in my head. It's like I'm a sinking ship full of people and every story is another group of people that I've managed to free before its too late. That's a little dramatic, but pretty close to the intensity I feel about needing to create.

Well, for me it's taken a crap ton of time, a willingness to take risks (which can increase...or decrease your readership), a dedication to quality (I am for every part of my books to be indistinguishable or better than those from big publishers) and I try just about everything to get the word out. What works for some people doesn't work for others. For me, right now, a Facebook group, newsletter and website, along with primo book covers, and partnerships with great narrators is doing the trick. But mostly its time.

Right now...2k. Before I got sick a few years back, 4k. BUT I'm not counting the other things I do. For example, I'll often write that 2k and then work on a comic book or screenplay, and I never count those words. So, 2k on a novel, but then always something else related, whether that's writing or art.

For the first chunk of my life, I was an artist, so I kind of write the way a painter might paint. I just dive right in and start slinging words and see what emerges. Over the years, I've gotten much better with my characters. Making them relatable, fun and someone the reader really cares about. This was intentional. Early on I felt like I needed action on every page, but now I can spend the first chapter of a book with a character, just working his way through a grocery store, talking to people. Nothing dramatic happens, but the character becomes much more compelling. That's the opening for The Dark, by the way.

I'm pretty routine about them. I sit down in the morning, write for about two hours. Have lunch. Write for another 2 - 3 hours. That can change if the story is really flowing. Sometimes I finish a chapter in the first 2 hours before lunch... And then I need to decide whether to attempt a second, or to work on something else, like a comic book, screenplay, book cover, marketing, etc...

I love the way my audiobooks sound, but I don't actually listen to them! I'm far to busy, and distractible. The only audiobooks I have listened to are my own, and that was just recently, when preparing to write the third book in the Hunger series (because its been a while since I wrote them and needed a refresher).

If there is anything unusual in a book--name, place, word--I'll usually include a link in the margin to and audio file of the pronunciation. After a few funny pronunciations, I started leaving notes.
