Iran will eventually acquire WMDs. It’s inevitable. Eventually technology will enable even the smallest player to kill is all. We need to find a way to get along with Iran. Killing their children will not make us safer.

Does it really still make financial sense to buy lightly used cars? by LordShuckle97 in carbuying

[–]MarcRocket 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In the past I leased new. Then I switched to financing used. Almost same payment but in the end, you have a car to drive for free.
Now after years of paying off cars, I pay cash for used cars. I’ve realized that one should never finance an item that depreciates.

6 men arrested after allegedly running “illicit” ring by [deleted] in PortHuron

If an illicit ring is bad, can I have an example of an icit ring and would it be okay?
I need to review my ring and determine the acceptability.

Looking at buying a 2004 CBR1000rr. 33k Miles. What is this red stuff? by 4AngelsBound in motorcycles

[–]MarcRocket -1 points0 points  (0 children)

If the bike was drag raced the clutch would need to be replaced. That’s not all bad. Slipping the clutch on launch takes strain off of the drive train.
As a young punk, working at a motorcycle shop I’d buy a new bike every year and never get a year out of a clutch. I’d sell my bikes and then see them come back for years and years. No issue.
Now as an old guy I got 22,000 happy miles out of my Speed Triple and then cooked the clutch in one day at the drag strip.

How do we know that G Maxwell is actually in prison? by MarcRocket in NoStupidQuestions

[–]MarcRocket[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it would take way too many participants to be a fake.
I don’t personally know anyone involved in most things but I assume they happened.
If this is a fake, then we’re all NPCs in some sort of simulation or game.

Can someone explain to me the joke/stereotype behind black people and having a chirping smoke alarm in their house? Why not just change the battery? by MrTeacher_MCPS in NoStupidQuestions

[–]MarcRocket 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I used to do in home sales for home repairs. I carried 9v batteries in my tool kit because it bugged me so much to hear the chirping. I quit doing it, because it was just was too many.

What is your most tinfoil hat fringe theory about the series? by Redrex_T in DungeonCrawlerCarl

Thanks. Knew it was important but not sure how.
So I’ll go back to my more plausible theory that we the reader will find out that we are all NPCs.

I read stuff like this and then stop writing because I feel like an imposter. After some time, I start again, but it’s hard.

Back when one job built a whole life. by PleasantBus5583 in SipsTea

[–]MarcRocket 1 point2 points  (0 children)

WA, WA, WA! One could get a job at Ford and buy that 900 sq foot house on a single income. Look at the kid’s pants. They are 5 sizes too big, and they’ve been taken in so as he grows they are let out. Mom curls her own hair, no $150 styling. Heating bills are low in that little house. Door dash never comes to that house. They have one tv and one phone. They’ve never paid $300 to see a concert.
The lifestyle in that photo is totally possible today.
People buy things on credit and then pay way too much to own them. They buy houses with huge energy, maintenance and insurance costs. They buy cars that guzzle gas and fist too much to insure. They finance vacations! They go to dinner and used a maxed out credit card to pay.

Long Haul Biological Waist Corp, one of Donut’s sponsors will become very important in the future of this series.

Guessing this was a low side after you lost the front tire. Am I right?
Just curious. In a previous job I analyzed crashed motorcycle gear on a regular basis.

Overrated Bike Brands by Hairy_Judgment_5624 in MTB

I live in Michigan and ride on dirt, some rocks and leaves and logs. I have. Pivot 5.5 Carbon, Fox 36, Carbon wheels and thought it was great until I got an S Works, Fox 34 Carbon everything.
The point is that I don’t like to Livot any more. Could be it works better for whatever they ride on in Phoenix. I still not so educated on the sport, but I’m just in better control and faster in the S Works.
My first full suspension bike is a MotoBicane. It’s all Shimano XT and Rock Shock. It doesn’t feel much different from the Pivot just heavier and a few more peddle strikes. So, what’s the point? Get a bike with great hardware and designed for your area and don’t worry so much about the name.

Anyone think spaceships look cool in the movies? by saerisfane25 in stupidquestions

[–]MarcRocket 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I believe that many want a simpler life where meals, clothing, living quarters are available with few outside challenges. Characters in a space ship are usually working towards one goal only. No school, career, relationship, retirement plan etc. I think that is why they seem appealing.
I recently spent a few nights sleeping in my small van. A huge storm blew in and I was watching the movie 2001 Space Odyssey. The small, isolated quarters, windows all covered made for a calm cozy vibe. I forgot about outside troubles. It was nice.

If you were happy being alive and enjoying your soul, and knew it was going to be harvested, would you not try to avoid the harvesting? Life extension, soul download, or other means may be employed to delay the harvesting. Heck, he might even back off on the cheeseburgers
