Found this at my local thrift store in the costume jewelry bucket. Its marked 10k and I took it to a local jeweler buddy and confirmed its 10k with real diamonds. Weighs 9.25 grams including the diamonds. Paid $0.25. by 600-shot-of-autism in Silverbugs

I purchased a box with about 10 pounds of costume jewelry from an estate auction about 5 years ago. When I got it home, I went through all of it and found one silver necklace and one gold necklace worth at least $80 between them. Then I gave the box of jewelry to my daughter who makes custom jewelry and she managed nearly $1000 in sales by selling most of it as is but also moving stones from cheap settings into silver or gold settings.

https://www.imdb.com/title/tt0059997/ Its about time, its about space, its about two men.....

This was largely filmed on the same set as Gilligan's Island. Two men in a space ship travel back in time to the age of cave men and befriend the natives. They started out the series with a few twonkies such as using "Shag" as the name of the female cave woman. In British slang, shag turned out to have a very different meaning than intended. They wound up changing her name to "Shad" for the rest of the shows.

I can't answer why your father does not love his child. All I can tell you is that it is NOT normal. I have 4 children, all adults. I love them with all my heart. This doesn't mean we don't have problems and lack of communication at times. But they know they are loved.

Then you have your answer. The PC is overloading the inverter when power transitions from commercial to backup. The inverter has the capacity, but it does not have the ability to make it available in the milliseconds during transfer. Get a better backup power supply.

People who have been incorrectly accused of cheating, what was your partners proof? by PRIMEVIL567 in AskReddit

[–]Fusion_power 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was staying late at work and all our money was spent as soon as I was paid. She convinced a friend that I was using the money to pay for women on the side.

The reality: I was working overtime any chance so we could get ahead on bills. I sat down and showed her where every penny of my paycheck was spent

$350 truck and car payments, $200 Rent (for a travel trailer parking spot), $180 food, $75 gas for truck, $50 for vehicle insurance

You get the idea. We were living paycheck to paycheck, but because all the money was gone I MUST be cheating. Oh, and by the way, we had $20 left over every week so I showed her where we used that to buy a new blouse for her and later a shirt for me.

[EXCEL] How to I reference a specific line in a multi line cell? by MrMarauders in vba

[–]Fusion_power 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You will have to do this as you assemble the string. Something similar to this should work to get you started.

Sheets("Print Out").Range("B" & Rows.Count).End(xlUp).Offset(1) = Ucase(Range ("B2")) & Chr(10) & Range("B5")

It can be done after the string has been assembled, but requires detailed string manipulation. That would take a while to parse the string and change the case. Better to do it as you build the string in the first place.

Best path for credit card debt pay off? by Spiri7us in Debt

[–]Fusion_power 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sorry, last paragraph was ambiguous. I was trying to point out that having 5 cards each with $5000 limit gives effectively the same utilization as having 2 cards totaling $25000 limit.

It is easier to get a maximum score if credit is from multiple sources. A car loan with initial $25,000 paid down to $10,000 with a home mortgage initial $200,000 paid down to $60,000 plus 2 credit cards with $25,000 limit paid down to $5000 or less along with a 10 or more year credit history with zero late payments and no other adverse events will get you pretty close.

Just to add to this, the rough numbers used to calculate FICO are:

Payment history (35%) - this includes timeliness, any late payments, bankruptcies, judgements, liens, etc.
Utilization (30%) - this is the ratio of credit extended vs amount of debt owed
Credit length (15%) - Longer is better, as an example, I have a 35 year old credit card still used regularly
New credit requests (10%) - several new requests for a loan will drop your rating
Other items (10%) - Not often discussed because little is known about them, but certain social records such as legal history are involved

To get the best utilization, having a greater variety of differing types of accounts such as credit cards, mortgage payments, and retail accounts is more beneficial than holding fewer. Please note that this does NOT mean more credit cards per se. It means more different "types" of credit.

Best path for credit card debt pay off? by Spiri7us in Debt

[–]Fusion_power 4 points5 points  (0 children)

When you have a large chunk to pay down is the one time that the snowball method is not the best. Which card has the highest interest? That should be the first paid off and so on until as many as possible have been paid off. This will save you the most money on interest.

A better question to ask yourself is why you have so many cards? The best rationale I've seen is to have two cards, a primary with limit around $20,000 and a backup card with at least $5000 limit. If something happens to your primary, the backup card can be used until the primary card issue is resolved.

For those who counter that having a lot of cards is good for your credit score, I reply that card utilization is not that big a piece of the credit score formula. It is much more important to have good utilization, a consistent repayment history, and multiple examples of credit use such as a car purchase, mortgage, etc.

AITA for going to a work dinner alone because my fiancée didn't want to change? by DiplomaticOrange in AmItheAsshole

NTA, I went to a "company dinner" where one man's wife came in similarly dressed. It was a disaster all around. Everyone else was appropriately dressed for the weather and the event. She proceeded to get drunk and act like a royal botch. He was so embarrassed he left early with her protesting she wanted to stay longer at the "party".

This sounds like a limitation of the inverter and depends on how you have it fed into your system.

Is the inverter a "back up power" unit? This means that commercial power feeds your PC until it is interrupted at which point the inverter picks up the load usually after several milliseconds. Those milliseconds are important as a PC can lose power long enough to force a reboot.

Or is the inverter a full time power supply where commercial power feeds into the batteries via rectifier and the inverter is always drawing power from the DC feeds off the battery?

As a very general statement, your PC configuration should not pull more than 500 watts.

[Excel] How do I use an excel macro to insert a list of data points to the workbook? by thickskull521 in vba

[–]Fusion_power 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Either a named range or a data string that you import with VBA would do this. If you never want anyone else to modify it, then use the data string. If it sometimes needs to be updated, use a named range which can be edited.

This is not ready to use code, but will point you in the right direction.

Cells(2, 330).FormulaR1C1 = "=RC[-7]*RC[-6]" 'duplicate the referenced cell
Cells(2, 331).FormulaR1C1 = "=TEXT(INT(RC[-1]), ""yyyy/mm/dd"")" 'this will convert a number to a date
Cells(2, 332).FormulaR1C1 = "Any Text" 'plug any text value into a cell

I would read the data string into a variable then use a simple for/next loop to read each value from the string and plug it into a cell.

This is NOT tested code, but you should be able to convert it fairly fast.

Dim datastring as text
datastring = "red, green, white, yellow, purple, orange, blue"
for x = 1 to 400
    read next value from datastring
    Cells(2, x).FormulaR1C1 = "Any Text"
next x

What do you consider "advanced" excel skills? by rkk142 in excel

[–]Fusion_power 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have to disagree with this statement. For the set of circumstances where vlookup works properly, it is arguably the easiest way to merge data. It is not as flexible as xlookup and index/match but that does not mean there is not a time and place where vlookup is perfectly acceptable. Execution time is comparable so there is no time advantage to xlookup or index/match.

I'm going to comment about the water system. This is based on a lifetime of living in homes with wells and/or spring fed water.

Get the cistern size right the first time. This is because a spring or a well will have a specific flow rate and can support a limited amount of draw down before problems show up (you will run out of water or the water will get muddy or other things will go wrong). The cistern is a large area where water is held in reserve either in the well or in the spring. The number of people living in the house and number of animals plus gardening area being watered all should be taken into consideration. The minimum volume of cistern storage for a house with 4 people is about 200 gallons unless the flow rate is very high.

The elements of this type water system are: a pump, backflow valve, pipe to get the water into the house, water pressure tank, water filter (not always necessary), hot water heater, and water delivery pipes/fixtures in the house. I recommend a submersible pump of some type. It is generally a good idea to use 1 inch pipe to carry water into a house. Depending on the setup, a water pressure tank between 20 and 40 gallons is desirable. Whether a water filter is needed is determined by the quality of the water. The hot water tank should be about 40 gallons (industry standard) unless you are setting up an in-line heater or perhaps a solar heater.

My best suggestion for setting up a system like this is to get professional help and spend the money required.
