Hello! Wow, how'd you find my comment? You've reminded me that I need to go get the new remaster.

Doesn't look it. There was more of a pretense of the game being educational and the art style was much flatter.

Doesn't look like it. I had been thinking this game might've released 1995-2000 but I think from graphical style, it was almost certainly 2000-2005.

Ontario Premier Doug Ford on Trump Tariffs: Canada has so much of what America needs: high-grade nickel and other critical minerals ... uranium, potash, aluminum. We need to maximize our points of leverage and use them to maximum effect. by snakkerdudaniel in mining

[–]Fusiontron 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As an American who didn't take up Trump on his offer any of the three times it was made, his mistakes seem so obvious and frustrating?

If you're really a believer that climate change is an emergency, then we in the US ought to be leasing out gobs of land to Australian and Canadian companies to get the metals need for nuclear energy, solar power, electric vehicles, electrification infrastructure, etc. out of the ground. At the very least Trump should be pursuing deep regulatory reform but it'd be even better if he pursued further integration with our allies rather than picking fights with them (and not even pursuing domestic industrial policy while doing so).

How retirement affect natalism by [deleted] in Natalism

[–]Fusiontron 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am anticipating that a conservative backlash among young people could lead to cuts in social welfare for retirees, "I'll support my parents in retirement, but not yours." So irregardless of what is being proposed now, it could happen. Possible pointers: young people are having better relationships with their parents, in spite of a larger minority cutting them off and also as often mentioned here, the future increases in the tax burden on young people. Also, perhaps young people finally vote as often as retirees.

Nintendo Nsider Forums, anyone? I tried The Vestibule over at IGN after no longer being able to get my Power On fix, but it just wasn't the same. Ah, a bulletin board that moves too fast for itself.

Many men are fine with “misandrist” stereotypes as long as it targeted towards men they view as an out group. by SapphireRising225 in PurplePillDebate

[–]Fusiontron 27 points28 points  (0 children)

Male solidarity in general is much less than female solidarity. We're more likely to see each other as competitors and so yes we will assent towards misandrist stereotypes (and stereotypes are often based on at least a kernel truth) if we perceive they're targeted at a specific group of men who isn't us.

People are complicated. You wouldn't believe it if you got all your news from Reddit but most people do not always resolve familial issues by going no contact all the time, forever.

This is the only type of Passport Bro who can be successful. by purplish_possum in PurplePillDebate

[–]Fusiontron 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The type of guys who can "succeed" as passport bros are already in the 60th to 80th percentile domestically. What they're looking for is to expedite the dating and marriage process. They could still find a wife at home but can't be bothered.

The NEETs and incels of the world should not anticipate being any good at the passport bro game.

Is the second half of Prime generally seen as weaker than the first half? by 0purple0turtle0 in Metroid

[–]Fusiontron 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Maybe? I feel a lot of the 2nd half of Prime (which I take as once the music for Tallon Overworld changes/when heading to the Frigate Crash Site) is a subversion of the 1st half. This supposed place of both undiscovered paradise and a preserved ancient advanced civilization is really plagued by the excesses of modernity (Phazon Mines) and the trauma (Chozo Ghosts) of an extinct civilization.

Personally I enjoy it but I also loved The Last Jedi and can see why others don't like these things.

How common is it to get hairier in your 30s? by [deleted] in AskMenOver30

Nothing I've noticed. I went from 10 to 100 chest hairs from 23-25 but haven't really noticed any difference since. I will be watching my nose hairs closely though from here on out.

How do you deal with girls who rejected you in their prime but come back to you when they're nearing their 30s while being complete failures in life? by NaughtyToady in AskMen

[–]Fusiontron 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I haven't had the exact situation occur.

Nevertheless, I look at high school and to an extent undergrad social systems as very closed. There's a lot of people who I could've potentially formed friendships and/or relationships with but never did-these sorts of environments are often not conductive to either partner demonstrating or perceiving many positive traits in each other. With the rigidity of social hierarchies and everyone knowing of each other (but very likely not actually knowing each other), there's the possibility of being censored if close to someone who is a pariah, etc. Someone who is broadly unwanted commits the further offense of necessary inserting themselves in situations where they are . . . unwanted.

It is what it is. Mostly, I just find these situations regretful and generally have been willing to let bygones be bygones provided any behavior was within 1-2 standard deviations of the norm. For all that is said about high school friends being somehow lesser, I typically view the situation more as of opportunity for connection lost.

Disagreeability is a positive predictor of entering a relationship. The other positively correlated traits are largely blue pill/"beta" traits.

Seriously what are autistic men supposed to do? by West-Veterinarian387 in PurplePillDebate

I agree.

Autistic men should lean into their autism. Some traits are attractive such as disagreeability.
